From: Walker Moore I got 15Mbps/1.3Mbps originally, even though they told me I should expect 12Mbps downstream. I've increased this to 20Mbps downstream by (i) getting my noisy phone line fixed, (ii) ensuring my router is plugged into the master socket (iii) which now has a ADSLNation faceplate fitted. (These do a better job at frequency separation than traditional microfilters.) Hmm now I'm intrigued to know what the best "standard" microfilters are. Must admit mine are cheapies and are probably reducing my linespeed no end. Anyone got any tips for UK suppliers of top notch filters? Oh and I'll also put a vote in for Demon. Very solid reliable ISP, have been with them for years as well.

Login Problems

Getting the same problem, keep getting message saying 'waiting for region and handshake' then being logged off, why haven't the Lindens picked up on this problem?

TBH, i don't think it's an LL problem...this time. I'm another Virgin customer, and the system has been flakey for a few days. I'm getting the same handshake problems.

Anther BT customer and a concierge one with 3000US$ monthly tier fees going into LL sticky hands. I cannot get in any more either it has been like it all day I spoke to Belinda Linden and Ethan Linden, and the same problems you are all having. Even Spike Linden is getting the same problems. They are all saying it is a London Network problem and not in their control but they are doing what they can. Well one thing they could have done about it is to have posted a dam blog and then kept us informed. But typical LL customer service. Transparency, Linden Labs lol.

I totally agree with femina. the Blog is an utter waste of time. They never post any up to date service stuff there. I couldn't get in last week...turned out that it was an uschedules grid closedown. Nothing in the blog, and for most of it the service status page said everything was fine.
Come on LL...we are your customers. You should make some kind of effort to salve our frustrations.

To be fair to LL on this one, it doesn't appear to be a problem with their service so why should the blog about it? They'd just get nasty comments if they tried to explain it wasn't their fault.

So whats wrong with blogging about it and keeping your customers informed then No one claimed it was an LL fault we were blaming the Lindens for doing their usual and not telling anyone anything, what planet are you from

I understand the point entirely. Do you expect every single American business with UK customers to inform them that they may suffer network problems today due to a problem on another continent that's got sod all to do with them? No. It's your ISP's job to inform you about that. The best place for this kind of vent would be your ISP's support department because they are paying for the link (Level3.net) that's currently not performing properly and preventing you from accessing _any_ service reliably on that side of the pond at all.

Then you didn't read my earlier thread child did you, the one that said I spoke to them early today and it has been going on all day. So yes they did know about it and have known about it all day. So either read all the posts and make informed comment, or go back to reading your comic and stop fantasizing about being an adult, because you have avery long way to go before you tell people to grow up.

Frankly, I'm glad you don't buy off me either. Edit: The "primary seller" causing you availability problems right now is your ISP. You know what to do. Hell, you might even get results.

From: Circa Dayafter Linden! Linden! My toaster is broken and you haven't made a blog about it! You suck!!!! ^^^Basically what you are saying I'm going shopping now. OMG. Better IM my in-world customers and let them know! They would be so annoyed if I became unavailable without telling them! Actually one or two sometimes are. Ever had twenty emails (redirected from IM) one day from an irate customer who can't believe you have the audacity to log off now and then? I have.

Of course Walker sorry I can see you are so right, after all you have nearly a 1000 posts on the forums, so you must spend an awful lot of time here. Personally I would rather spend my time running my successful land business but I come on here when I cannot run it Whether its LL or an ISP problem. But not either really as it is a major network supplier who is at fault. And no you don't understand the point entirely, in fact not even microscopically. LL has known all day that the UK has network problem in connecting to Second Life and if you cannot see that a blog entry would have been good customer service then I would not think you have anything worth selling anyway.

From: Femina Matahari Of course Walker sorry I can see you are so right, after all you have nearly a 1000 posts on the forums, so you must spend an awful lot of time here. I'm sorry that you choose to insult people when somebody disagrees with you. Perhaps if you posted on forums a bit more you might learn how to get your point across without being nasty to people and to accept opposing views with a little more grace. As for spending "an awful lot of time here", I'm afraid 956 posts over 15 months works out at around 2 posts a day so you'll have to come up with something a bit better than that. From: Femina Matahari Personally I would rather spend my time running my successful land business but I come on here when I cannot run it Whether its LL or an ISP problem. But not either really as it is a major network supplier who is at fault.
Your ISP pays that major network supplier somewhere down the line, so pressure on them is certainly warranted. Snipped rest of hysterical garbage.
