The keen eyes of Darien Caldwell spotted 31 new mainland sims, named and ready to be dumped to auction.
Say hello to Kiracofe, Ciraco, Windlesham, Denshore, Minacci, Gioacchini, Nina, Nizells, Mordreds Crossing, Silacci, Compton, Silwood, Vidaca, Nikach, Wapole, Forthfield, Riback, Dibacco, Black Lion, Ardingly, Highcastle, Mists Edge, Circus, Fountainhead, Fyrebird, Starship, Tarner, Elmore, Shipstone, Steine Gardens, Starnbrough.
After white-knuckling it for two months while the base price of mainland sat at L$6.1 a meter, LL must have been giddy to see prices shoot above L$7.0 a meter this week. It looks like LL wants to keep it comfortably below that.
Will they dump them all at once? A while back, Jack Linden said no more than 8 a day, but once they are named, they come fast. I would look for 8 a day over the course of three days most likely all coming live by early next week.
Good news for ad cutters everywhere.

Still could never figure out why they keep dropping sims when there is a ton of loose maintainance land that needs to be sold.

Time to tier up and take the £5 extra VAT into $75 for reals then maybe ...
I'd like to buy Starship, if only to put a smile on the face of those dear to me.

Can you apply directly to buy so-called maintenance land (Governor linden-owned) or do you have to go through the auction system? The Guv'ner has a few 16m2 plot near me.

*yawn* Old news, anyone who was paying attention saw them before they even showed up on the map. I do not forsee another 2 million m2 being released 8 sims at a time doing much to lower the land values, but if you wanna sell at 6.5 I'm sure you'll have a lot of customers.

You can put in a support ticket for a technical problem >> I've logged in but still a problem >> land >> buy land >> then just fill it out with Governor Linden as the other person and give the coordinates of the land. You will have to wait a few months to infinity and make sure that you are the FOUNDER as well as an owner of the group that wants to buy the land because they'll refuse to process the ticket on every spurious grounds they can find, but about 50% of the time (if you've waited long enough), they'll sell it to you. They have lots of rules about it, so you have to pretty much own everything surrounding it, but give it a try. Oh, and the land has to be under 512sqm. If it's 512+ it has to be auctioned.

Also explains why there weren't any mainland sims for a little while. Also, the grid failure was in SF - all new hardware goes in Texas, I believe.

I asked about buying some land near me (1024m) that had reverted to Governor Linden. I did this by putting in a support ticket. I was told they couldn't sell direct but they'd put the land up for auction. That they did and I was winning until the last minute, when I was outbid by L$1000.

But I read somewhere that nothing below 512 goes to auction. So how on earth are we supposed to buy them? I just wanted to buy these 16m2 plots to delete the ads, as oddly enough the Guv'ner's plots still have ads on them.

You can definitely put in a ticket to have autoreturn turned on a gov linden plot near you. They'll still not do it for 2-20weeks, but eventually that would be done. You can ask to buy it, too, but just expect not to be allowed to do that.

A) Boo! I was really hoping for a repeat of this time last year with land prices rocketing from 6/sqm to 16/sqm and everyone getting thoroughly ripped off (except me!)
B) I wonder how many people will buy these sims and then suddenly find out tey're paying 15-25% extra VAT after they win the auction. Could be fun.

Those named sims have been on the map for at least 3 or 4 days - I can't recall when I first saw them, but it was at least a few days ago. If they haven't started auctioning them yet, I wouldn't expect them to dump them all at once.
