I'm still annoyed. They ended First Land a DAY before I went Premium. I started on Feb 15 and became Premium on Feb 18, and in between, they shut the FL programme down. BOY was I annoyed.

I'm curious as to how people find out about it now, though. I mean, is it others in SL telling them about it? There are a huge number of un-updated help notecards--some dating back to 2003/2004--still circulating in world. First Land is referenced in many of them. |

I'm pretty sure that NCI, for example, has been giving out out of date information in notecards - I've heard of this exact obsolete info about First Land being given out at NCI within the past few months. The way that things are stored in Second Life makes it hard for even the most conscientious information providers to keep their information current. NCI has updated ALL of its notecards as of mid-January. We have also moved to a server-based distribution system for our notecards (the new "SL Info" board at all NCI Campuses and InfoNodes, to facilitate timely updates. The current "About Land" notecard says of First Land: "First Land – n, A now discontinued feature of Second Life. Formerly Premium Accounts were entitled to a free 512m2 plot of land from Linden Lab." |

And now, I can only find mention of it here and in the Second Life Wiki. Apparently, even the SL Support Portal stuff is FINALLY up to date. Now it says, "What happened to First Land?" I'm curious as to how people find out about it now, though. I mean, is it others in SL telling them about it? When I first came to SL, I stupidly went out and bought the "official guide" book to try to figure things out. The book is hopelessly out of date, and still talks about first land. As you can imagine, I was very confused when I decided to go premium and didn't get any land.  |

The way LL abruptly took away the First Land program and the fact that they still have it listed on many of their communications is one of the big reasons I stopped having faith in them as a company and am no longer investing anything except my yearly premium membership. And I only keep that because the stipend cancels out my payment.
The way they've ignored Land Bots and this website and have not fixed many performance issues are my other reasons for making this a purely recreational pursuit instead of risking money in it. _____________________

First lands don't exist

First lands existed YEARS ago, but I've never really managed to find one. Everytime new land was released, some stupid @$^& would create a bunch of accounts and buy them all and sell them for 3 times the price. The land economy system is so messed up. Works almost the same way in RL.

Well first land was abused by one person to the point LL had to take him to court, blame him for ruining it for everyone else.

NO the First Land Available Now ? When is it ended? Then how can I own a popular and cheap land now ? My belated apologies for my 'spam'. I really read no further than the first post or two, and he did ask how he could own a popular and cheap land now. Its not 'owning' but it does fit more or less the same budget that the original program did, so I felt I was answering the original poster with a viable alternative. Cheers to all.
