The money doesn't go into any players' pockets - it's a Linden sink. To snow new players, they would have to own a land and pay the directory fee. And there are plenty of groups that accidentally do this, since the default setting is for all group members to take part in the accounting.

I can't believe you have the nerve to randomly send out MULTIPLE group invites to random people ALL the time and the come here complaining because you were charged L$6 from a group?

Cartel members, it was requested that we list the clubhouse in about places. Since we have group accounting turned ON, you may be charged 1L sometime. If this is an outrage IM me and I will give you back your freaking L.

Its not all groups you belong too, its groups that own land and have the land deeded to the group. When the land is deeded to the group, the whole group takes responsibility for any liabilities on the land (parcel directory)but that also means if one day the owner of the group decided to sell that land, while it was deeded to the group any money gained from the sale of that land would be divided amongst the group. Or like I belonged to one group that the land was deeded to the group and they owned a club, when the clubs sploder gained any money i also gained a couple of L's from it.

This is old news. Also, by default, group members are 'forced' to participate in this fee. Im tired of being charged money from groups I am in. Thing is, most of them probably have no idea it can be turned off so only the owner has to pay it.
