5th day, 0$, and I just happened to drop by a castle.
The owner and me got into talking, and he ended up giving me L$50.
Man, that will always rank as my best experience on SL.

Wow, lots of them.....
Some of my best moments in fairly random order: - Generally along the lines of Brenda and Mari's sentiments: everytime I have the "that put a smile on my face" feeling at the end of the day. - Few days after arrival, guy hands me money and takes me shopping, just because he could. Never seen or talked to him since other than to say thanks. Inspired me to 'pay it forward' too. - First time I managed to help someone else! And every time I have managed to do that since then. - Finding the most amazing and inspiring places while out exploring, too many to list.... - Meeting cool people that are still my friends today. And sharing fun (and not so fun) times. - Discovering live music events. - Building my first box. - Making my first complete items, finding out other people liked them and selling tons of them for charity, that was amazing. |

I was a 3 day old noob and has arrived as a nakid Ruth (it's much better now, you get born with a nice shape and clothes to start with) - I had made myself some clothes using the Appearance tools. They were not very good and I was wondering how others seemed to have such nice clothes. Exploring about I visited a location called Cinderella's Castle - a really great build - and as I arrived I was approached by a couple of "posh" avatars. I explained I was new and just looking around and this amazing looking lady presented me with a dress and some shoes. It was a pretty little skirt and top from Pixel Muse in indigo blue - I still have it and I still wear it - exactly the sort of design and texture I was wondering how to make. I've never forgot that kindness - of course it is much easier for noobs to get nice looking clothes now - but who ever you are, I'll never forget you.

Being 'rated', out of the blue and by a total stranger, for the quality of one of my builds. Followed by a quick IM asking me to keep up the good work.
Making a few L$ on a land trade, and feeling like a millionaire about it. Having my expectations rocked by someone who looked a complete blingtard, thus being reminded to not prejudge. Teaching various newbies to change clothes, use Search, get boxes off their heads, turn night into day, and overcome all the other silly traps I had to work out for myself. You can almost see the lightbulb appear over their heads when they realise how easy it is. Ejecting my first griefer from land I owned ![]() |

Where do I begin ....
First...it would have to be when I was a noob and a girl gave me 2000L to go shopping and TP'd me to some cool spots.....that set the tone for me and I have always tried to help people....and I enjoy it. Exploring....seeing some of the fantstic builds for the first time...I always get a thrill when I pop into a new sim and see something amazing....love the creativity here. Making (and riding) my custom motorcycle...was my first go at texturing and it came out sooooo cool~!!! Creating my homes... I always buy, not build, but the decor and landscaping is so much fun and every time I re-decorate, it just gets better (so, shopping fits in with this ctatgory for sure) Creating 'looks' for my AV...and finally coming close to my RL self... Making my first sales in SL...total thrill to see the sales in my transaction records, Ah...and without a doubt....absolute tops, the incredible friends I have made along the way... met some total goofballs and freaks, but those make for funny stories later lol But, I've met some truly genuine, awesome peeps and I'm thrilled to call them friends now~!!! |

Having someone tell me that I am very nice when I feel like cr-- and undeserving. Most of all the wonderful people that I have met and truly love IRL.

Watching my tiny bunny avatar fly and "headbanging" on a dancepad. Staring at my girl bunny avatar's backside and seeing her scripted tail twitch, which almost always makes me giggle as hard as the first time.
Buying my home plot of mainland in a simply lovely neighborhood. Discovering I have the most amazingly designed dance hall right beside my place. Talking to a friend, who got paid 1k L$ so she could stop escorting, which she had no interest in, whereas I got paid 1k once to get a nice skin so I could START escorting... which I have no interest in. Meeting a very good man during my first days while doing the money trees. He picked a L$ accidentally before I could enter CC info so the tree would let me pick, then apologized, offered friendship and promised to pay me back. I was all like "yeaaah, right!". Next day, he called me over to pick a cherry. He's still a very close friend, which is amazing. Discovering how much joy I find in building. Finding amazing places other people have build. (That one is actually the best when feeling down about SL and its population in general. Seeing the amazing places that are there beside the malls and camping places always helps me remember why I fell in love with SL in the first place.) Having a better butt than I'll ever have in RL. ![]() _____________________

Making my first sale in my stall and it was for a photo that I'd taken that's titled "Naked Lady in the Morning"...
And no, it's not what you think! ...There's a pink flower called Naked Lady and I took the photo of it in the morning. Anyway, I never expected it to sell at all and it was the 1st thing that sold. I was totally thrilled! _____________________

good times, good times.

Meeting the man who has become my constant companion throughout my slife, my mentor and Professor and tooling around with him as a tiny penguin. Creating what i see in my head through a medium i had never experienced, like my own Unwedding. Witnessing truly memorable events for my friends, and crying real tears for their happiness, like Dani and Riker.
Working and collaborating with minds that i would've never found in real life, for whatever reason, especially those like Arteer, SunShine, LittleToe, Firefly, Sando and Gilbert. Making my friends laugh, like the time i became an extra tiny smurfette and made passes at a prim doll named Captain Olimar with Shay. Feeling loved, giving love, and spending somewhere around six hundred days, at least an hour each day but up to 12 at times, just being subversive...finding out more about the girl behind the avatar...and changing my life! |

Just a short break from negativity here, my best experience has to be attending the SL wedding of a friend. What's yours ? ![]() ) like Svarga, Chaos, FuturePerfect, etc. and got lost for hours. It was a great, great day and one I'll never forget. Some scripted attachments enable experiences and social situations not entirely anticipated by their creators, I guess. _____________________

My best experience in Second Life to date is when I began landing steady freelance work with V3 Group and Silverscreen, building movie premiere sims. Excellent pay and perks. Finally realizing that profit CAN translate to the real world.
With this job came studio space on the company-head's island--a very comfortable office suite, with friendly, professional neighbors. It feels good when you finally make connections worth their weight in Lindens. In the immortal words of Biggie Smalls: "Networkin' ain't eazy." _____________________

The first time someone friended me. I'd floated around SL off and on for months and never had anyone friendly approach me until that night.

All the people I have met have been the best part, but that's not really a single experience, it's part of the overall experience.
The first time I gave a biplane ride to someone was my best single experience. Can't name names, I guess, because I don't think it's been mentioned here before, but it was awesome. There was a lot of, "Sit here. No there. How about this? This probably won't work but...crap...what happened?" all followed by the inevitable crashes, ejections and other bits of hilarity. But at one point we were flying across a Linden ocean, directly into the full moon, she was sitting on the wing and we were just chatting away. It was weird and perfect at the same time. Just a great experience. That was followed by the well-documented Lindal and Trout get orbited out of the biplane to several million meters incident and the Lexxi winds up paralyzed from a crash and tumbles off a cliff in her wheelchair while Trout cackles like a mad scientist incident. That stupid biplane started off as a joke here in the forums. It was, I thought, the dumbest and most useless thing in my inventory, so I offered it up as a prize, not knowing it was no transfer. Turns out I love my little red buddy, and have had some great times with it. SL is weird. Beautiful and weird. _____________________

Don't most guys say this? ![]() Not that buddy. That buddy matches. I like him, too, though. He sings and dances. Very entertaining. /me looks at Oryx and waggles his eyebrows suggestively. So...I hear the new hangout is a great place to fly...you, me, the biplane? Wear something primmy. It makes sim crossings more exciting. _____________________

My favorite thing about 2L is all the things that make me laugh until I cry... happens almost every time I login!
Including the bugs (hair up butt, head on backward, etc), and weird things that people have made (beer mug hovercraft, bouncing rock, etc.). |

Being a couple months old, decidedly neko, jumping into the passenger side of a police cruiser with new friend, BW (a werewolf), in the driver's seat, and a cute tiny dragon avatar in the back seat... where we proceeded to tear up the recently established Black Art sim at full speed, on which we owned property, bouncing off people's builds, ban lines, security systems etc. Accidentally crashed a private beach party where we were all called "peeping Tom cops". I had never laughed so hard in my entire life with the SL camera angles going all over the place (I still don't know how BW drove or knew where he was driving -- don't think he did).
It was like a comedy routine. So this neko, werewolf and miniature dragon find an abandoned police cruiser... The three of us now co own about 1.5 sims of land with a few other cool people, and BW still drives like a maniac. ![]() Good times, good times. _____________________

Shouldn't your hands have been up when he collared you? ![]() No that was when he stuck a pistol in her face and took her purse. SL mugging is on the rise in some sims. You can't be too careful, prancing around like that with your legs all attached to your hips and all, fancy hair and jewelry falling out of your butt, big wad of Lindens hanging out of your purse. Bad things happen in this part of town, you know. Maybe you should let me give you an escort. Where were you headed? Let me swing by my apartment on the way there so I can grab some rope...I mean...my keys... _____________________
