From: Peggy Paperdoll Absolutely, Desmond. However, (you knew that was coming, didn't you? ), Feedback is only useful if it's heard by the people who can do something with that feedback. LL has chosen a method for that feedback that does not include the forums. Offering feedback here does not get heard by the proper people. Lost inventory is something that has been here since I started.......and since you started too, I bet. LL knows about it......how they choose to handle the problem is up to them. The only way anyone can voice an objection (or support) for their actions is through contact with them........not other residents who can do nothing to help. The OP is pissed off.......rightly or wrongly, it matters not. His options are not all that limited if he is serious. He can file a support ticket, he can file a bug report, he can call LL on the phone, he can email. Or he can come here for sympathy and not stand a chance in hell of getting his problem resolved........which is what he chose to do. Hence, my lack of sympathy. And I'd like to state that your assesment that Second Life is based on business is not necessrily true. For you, yes, I believe it is........but you (and quite a few others in SL like you) are not representative of the majority of the population. You know very well that only a tiny percentage of residents ever make a dime in this game........mostly because it's hard, hard work in an unstable environment (I'm talking about LL's flawed platform). The whiners and criers about things going wrong who do not take the necessary steps to really solve thier problems are not part of that business you say Second Life is based upon. They are simply amatuers who don't have the drive to do it right. And, for the majority of the people who log into SL each day it's simply a game......either a game that is free or a game you can subscribe to. They loose inventory and bitch to their friends but move on knowing shit happens and it's not a big deal. Those who get upset to the point of being unhappy leave or severely curtail their activities in SL. That, is the majority in SL........they don't report issues like what the OP has because it's not that improtant to them. Evidently it is important to the OP but instead of doing something useful he came and cried in the forums. If he/she or anyone can't understand where I'm coming from, I'm sorry. You want something done to correct a problem.......do something to help correct it. Otherwise take your lumps and move on. Don't come cry on the forums. Who the hell decided YOU were the judge of what people can and cannot post about? If some one wants to rant, that is THEIR right, just as it is YOUR right to be a jugdemental tard over it.

I should point out something that might have gotten lost in the premium debate: It _is_ possible for animations to simply vanish from an AO in inventory, and this was happening before the JIRA above posted. In fact, it can happen for non-HUD AOs. I know, because it happened to mine. (And even more surprisingly, one of the animations it ate was one that I uploaded.)

Regardless, if we hold basic or premium account , still does not change the fact that the inventory issue is not getting resolved. Especially when the linden dollar is based on hard currency, whether it be 195.00 mth, 9.99 mth, or .60 cents... As stated previously, I will be in control of what I spend in LL on a monthly bases, given the state of the state of grid. So until, i see some serious effort in regards to bug fixes - (like this bug), i will not pony up my $9.99 month.

Everyone, basic or premium, has good reason to be upset about platform unreliability, and to lobby LL to improve it. (Posting on these forums has no discernible impact on that, but it's not forbidden... just kind of futile.) And it's not good for premium members that basic members are losing their stuff: we kinda need folks to feel comfortable acquiring such stuff, just to keep the whole ship afloat.
But when it comes to individual support, it's a different story. By analogy, it would be Real Nice if I could call up Microsoft for free and get some kind of Windoze support from them. But they want a hell of a lot more than US$9.95 from me for that kind of service, and that's despite any other money I may have spent on Microsoft Orifice.
Setting emotions aside, if one needs support for a specific problem, I don't think it's unreasonable to have to pay a sawbuck that month. Relatively speaking, it's a terrific deal.

I no longer buy land, or rent land. I do however pay to be premium simply for the added support. Which truthfully you need in SL for its poor performance. I am able to use live chat to solve some problems and found it helpful at times. I vent on the forums at times but realizing that the posts I do here are very, very seldom noticed by a Linden if at all. Other than my monthly premium acct I will not sink another cent into SL as long as the stability is questionable at the most.

From: Amaterasu Cinquetti Who the hell decided YOU were the judge of what people can and cannot post about? If some one wants to rant, that is THEIR right, just as it is YOUR right to be a jugdemental tard over it. I never said anyone cannot post any rant they want to post. I simply am saying how useless it is to post something directed at LL here on the forums. And I'm stating that there is an avenue that has more potential of getting problems resolved. Merely suggesting that if you really want your problem resolved that you might try the avenue more likely to help. But, I will admit to being a little tired of those ranters constantly pulling the "poor me, I can't get support because I'm basic" track. It's nothing more that a plea for sympathy..............and it does not wash with me. That is all I've been saying. I've judged nothing..........I've stated my opinions just as the OP did. I also suggested a more sensible way of getting any problem resolved one might have with SL. Not one person in this forum (unless they are a Linden, lurking) can help the people with issues like the OP's. I've not even stated my opinions on the premium vs basic issue........it's a choice. Live with your choice........don't whine about it. Plus, I did not resort to name calling simply because I hold a completely different view on the situation........merely stating facts as I see them. Everyone eventually will lose something in this game......the mature will deal with it in a mature way. The immature will rant, beg sympathy, and name call. Linden Lab has a huge customer support problem.........anyone in this game for more than a few weeks knows that. You make a choice to continue or not. If you choose to continue then you are going ahead with your eyes wide open. Deal with it in an intelligent way seems to be the mature thing to do. All else is futile.

Yeah them 3.7 cent texture uploads are what keeps the game afloat. You must be pumpin all of a few dollars a year into the system with those.
The freeloaders bug me, but hey, some peeps are broke, the ones that really bug are the whiners who complain they won't pay because the service needs to improve first. Somebody call them a WAAAAAAmbulance. Hopefully if the game ever does become perfect, part of that perfection will be banning their non contributing, whining buts from the world.

Granted my post was pure frustration over an issue that is getting worst with each build of sl - which i want ll to read. My post was also direct at SL, not any particular user directly or indirectly. Peggy made choice state her opinion and I merely responded with mine - which we differ.
I agree there are plenty of resources and believe me i've logged my share of complaints through proper channels. Along with looking through tons of posts to get information.
What floors me is it has to take residents of both kinds, "basic" or "premium" to reproduce, log tickets, bump blogs to get them to take a look at critical bug that is quite destructive to the user experience...
I may not be a regular blogger or premium account holder, but it does not make my "right" any less. No, you are pumping in a few pennies, nothing more. I'm paying much more than that a month when you add in my land tier (I own mainland) and my premium fee. It all comes back to the example you were given.... Who should get better support, the $1 customer of the $100 customer? Log a JIRA on it, submit a basic ticket, or if you want more support, pay for it. Your rights to support are much less. Part of the premium package is enhanced support. It is also known that the lindens don't take much notice of rants. Put everything together constructively when you submit your ticket and you may get a positive response. But right now the Lindens have other issues.

*ignores the other posts* If its any consolation, the dances might show up 3 months from now. That's what happened when my dance chim poofed on me. No amount of the rinse and repeat worked for me, so I got a new one and all the dances in it. Three months later, it mysteriously appeared.. in my lost and found folder? *shrugs*
This is Second Life.. it never works the same way twice.

It would truly be refreshing if you took the time to read my post. I am not debating the level of customer service I get (please reference my answer above to Qie if re-reading my post again confuses you). I made a simple comment that I am contributing a bit more than a few cents monthly whereas there *are* premium members who pay their monthly fee and that is it for whatever reason. I'm not sure what you mean by "be so load about it" - I can only think it's some kind of street lingo or the decline of our current educational system that prevents one from speaking in understandable English. /me takes out my lucky decoder ring for any further comments you might make

Everyone, be they premium or basic, have the same issues from time to time. Rather than go on and on about the pros and/or cons of either, why not give a fellow resident some slack? Regardless of what someone pays (or does not) the experiences can be identical As for the pennies given per texture comment, that's pretty funny... consider those pennies multiplied by the amount of residents who upload textures on a daily basis, multiplied by 365, and I can bet ya that'll be more than enough to buy "A latte" (unless that's not the analogy du jour anymore for people saying it's not much cash...) In any case, I've had issues myself recently. All while trying to get a new business up and running. Not fun! If my options were something other than "SL or go clean" I'd probably be less likely to sit here muttering obscenities at my PC. lol Here's hoping we all have a more stable grid in days to come!

I guess I'm in agreement with Deandra (mostly). My biggest problem with rants like this is that often the ranter is a basic account (which is fine with me.......it really is) who start off with the big, loud cry that they cannot get support from LL. And they come here and belly ache that fact to people who cannot do a damned thing to help them.......of course it always goes to the premium/basic arguments. By all the claims of the basics contributing more to LL it would seem that they outnumber the premium account holders in content creation.............do I believe that? No, I do not. Lets just take the primary argument here about uploading textures for the OP's store and paying rent on that store. The claim is that they contribute more to LL than I do with my measly $22.50 per quarter ( I have no tier). Lets say they upload textures for three female dress outfits.........two underwear layer, one top layer, one skirt layer and lets toss in a jacket layer (which is two uploads). That is six texture uploads for each outfit that is to be put up for sale in the store.........times three. $L180 for the uploads........pretty close to $.50 That money goes to LL. However, these uploads are for items to sell to other avatars........that is more an investment than a payment. All that is needed to recover 100% of the fee you paid to LL is one sell of one of the items the creator made to be sold........at, of course, $L180 (which is pretty low for an female outfit). Did the creator pay LL or did the buyer of that first item pay? Convincing arguments can be made either way. But, is the creator out anything? No, they are not.....in fact, if the business is anywhere near successful, the creator is pretty far ahead on the linden outlay to LL. Let's take the rent that basics seem so anxious to remind us of. They may pay $L1000 a week for their rent.........about $L4500 a month. That is a little more than $15 a month. More than I pay. However, they are not paying LL. They are paying whoever it is they are renting from.........that person pays LL and that person is very likely a premium member. Part of the lindens you pay that landlord certainly goes to the LL coffers......but in a very indirect way. Much like that first purchaser of the new item the creator made and put on sale to pay for the uploads. It's a wash.........the argument is senseless (both sides). And that's my thoughts on the premium/basic argruments that always get going in these type of threads. My original bitch about threads (rants) like this about lack of customer support for basics remains the same. Being basic (not committed to paying LL directly) puts you in a position of having next to no customer support.........a half step behind premiums. I'm premium..........I can get a little bit more support than a basic. If I need support I'll go the routes available to me at my level to get it. I just happen to have one tiny advantage........I pay LL $22.50 a quarter directly. The basic does not.........he may pay more but that does not count as far as LL is concerned. Make a committment and open (or reopen) your premium account and LL will bump you up to my level. Stay basic and take the avenues available to you for support. You made the choice........don't whine to me or get on a soap box telling me that you deserve as much support as I do. You don't.........you have made no committment. LL does not see you as a paying account. You are not a paying account.......you are a free account (often making more lindens than you are paying another resident for rent and more than you are paying LL for your uploads). You want help, come to the forums for it. Just don't expect me (and many like me) to feel sorry for you because you cannot get the same level of support as I do since you are a basic account. And, don't forget, we don't get near the support as estate owners........but you seldom see a whine from a premium about that. You want my level of support do what is necessary.......become a premium account. You want to remain basic.....quit crying to me. Your bed, you lay in it. And, one more time, people who make threads like this are not after help (in my opinion). They only want sympathy. There is absolutely nothing anyone here can do to resolve your problem. We can only suggest a way for you to get a little support.......but you never seem to take our suggestions to heart. Becoming a premium, for some reason, it totally out of the question. Yes, I've used support.......it worked for me every time. I had to wait a while but I got Linden help. I wonder if the people who claim LL ignored them on all requests for help displayed the same attitude as the OP had with his opening post? ...........Just saying.

The thing I dont understand is.. after like the 3rd time of losing all the dance animations, why would someone would go ahead and buy the 4th set and put them right back into the same AO attached to the HUD? Isn't the bug mostly related to HUD attachments? and wouldn't doing the same risky behavior again and again, especially after knowing about the bug, be considered pretty not so smart? Common sense says use a chim, dance bracelet, or dance watch and attach your AO to the body until the HUD bug is squished.
