1.) Approximately 6:00 SLT time, I detach my AO. 2.) Frozen the hell up! 3.) Crash.... on yeah i'm on Intell iMac, tiger O/S. 4.) Came back on - inventory partially loads... no surpise there 5.) froze. 6.)Waited for my inventory to load.. No AO, but HEY -i got 4 damn copies of the EMPTY AO?
And before you say go log a freaking ticket for them to possibly help, I'm a basic account.
I AM also a content builder, I SPEND ALOT OF damn lindens in support of my sl business and support of other content builders with MY lindens, which I SO NICELY purchase from LL , who takes their little cut on every sticking dollar!
Only to get the big finger from support when my inventory is lost!
BECAUSE. your not a premium account holder- so sorry to bad and 2.) we are not responsible for inventory lost.
GEE LL?? Do you wander why you got so many free accounts? COME the HELL On!
THIS IS DAMN BUG - you need to FIX It and act like a real software company!
Oh - Let me help you out by logging Jira!
/me walks the hell out!

please... I have objects go missing all the time, the best thing to do is to create a backup of everything you own, if an item does go missing, try and contact the vendor you purchased it from (Normally they are nice enough to give you a replacement if you provide them information and tell them that the product was Lost in Transit). Sorry it happened to you know and I know it sucks, I've lost 2000L skins before, so I really recommend contacting the creator of the animation, as I've had those skins replaced.

Sorry this happened to you. I know how frustrating it is to have the asset server eat my stuff. Just want to post the obligatory did you clear cache/restart advice. Likely you did, but that has brought back an item or two for me in the past. Good luck.

I really get a kick out of people who so loudly shout that they are a basic account, BUT they spend so much money in the game...........and I really get tickled when they later tell us that they were a "long standing" premium account BEFORE they became basic. It's always the same............I dropped to basic because "I could not get proper support". So, with all that aquired wisdom they got while a premium account, they purposely downgrade to an account that has even less.................Geesh, anyone besides me see the humor in that? Get a grip......submit a ticket (basics can do that). Upgrade your account back to premium......you might get more attention (maybe not, but you know you won't being a basic). Or take yoru lumps and move on. Shouting here in the forums won't help.......that is unless all you are looking for is sympathy. Sorry, I don't sympathize........this is game, Only spend what you are prepared to loose. When you reach your limit.........quit.

I am glad it tickles you to no end - However, when you pay for something and you would think it would remain.. So, yes - I will be in control of what I spend in sl and not have them bill be every month. WIll be a freebie til the core systems are somewhat stable under the current load of users. Thank you Also -I yelled after having it happen to me 4 times in the last 3 months.... ( with my nicely logged tickets ) And - yes, i made backups of my items for what i have control of, however, what I don't have control of is the code nor the servers.... which lead me to my rant. Yes, this is indeed is game, one that charges you a fee for buying LLs, uploading, etc I might add.. Not just to just us freebie account holders, but to those nice corporations part taking in this "game". I am not looking for sympathy or pity. What I am looking for is for LL to fix bug that can be reproduce, by simply wearing an AO of any kind. To simply to say "quit" does not fix the problem.

I believe basic accounts can submit bug reports. Much better way to address your current problem. You don't like the way LL handles bugs...........talk to them. I'm sure you can call them on a phone. I know you can submit a ticket. They even have an email address you can write to. Coming on the forums screaming and crying about lost inventory is not the way to handle it............and you know it will nelp not one bit. So, my assuption is YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SYMPHATHY. No other reason except maybe a temper tantrum.
However, your post will get nothing done..........that much I know after over 2 1/2 years in this game. I"ve experienced expensive inventory loss. Guess what, LL is not responsible (read the TOS). You can go back to the creators for a replacement.......but they are not under any obligation to help you.........and it's not their fault either. As far as I can see you have a couple options: 1.......contact Linden Lab with your problem. 2.....find a game that better suits your expectations.
BTW, I would not suggest you come on to LL with the same attitude you have shown here tonight.

If you put as much effort into contacting LL instead of posting in forums that obviously have no oversight, despite being under the secondlife.com website, you'd have been able to direct your frustrations at the proper person. You've projected your anger at LL onto Peggy and that's not fair to her. If you would like, I can point you to an archived thread from 2005 that told of rez-woes and lag-sorrow and loss-laments. I think it should be the standard fare when these types of rants come up. "Oh I'm angry so I'm going to rant and see who jumps on me so I can get a reaction since I'm not getting one from the person who I blame for my anger" These issues are nothing new. And people have been complaining about LL not listening and not fixing things before adding blings since early on. History, it's said, repeats itself. As for paying for a game, you do that with all games, if only by paying it with your time. If you don't want to have to pay for a game, fine. Don't play the game. But that doesn't give you the right to complain about it if you're not a paying customer but expect paying customer service. Scenario: John Doe enters a restaurant. Sits, orders a glass of water, and begins to read. Jane Smith and Pam Johnson enter and buy dinner, with a bottle of wine, it all comes to the girls spending $100.00US. They leave the waitress a standard 15% tip or $15.00US. John finishes the book he's reading, swallows down the last bit of water and leaves the waitress a $1.00US tip as he heads out the door. Hmmmmm who should the waitress have spent more time making happy? Someone who paid them $1.00US or someone who paid fifteen times as much? A

Many people may disagree with the way a message is delivered... but for every person we hear this from, there are ten more who didn't even bother to say a word. Feedback is feedback. Right, wrong, justified, unjustified - it's feedback. The grid is based on business, and business isn't fair. Doesn't matter how nice you are, how hard you tried, how right you are about anything... it's a damn tough world, and success = pleasing people. Business thrives on feedback, because it corrects the course. As a generality (this is from my old corporate ladder-climbing days) a customer problem often breaks down as follows: 1/3 chance the company's fault (parts falling off, design flaw, fried electronics) 1/3 chance the consumer's fault (they broke it, they are tards, whatever) 1/3 chance random nonsense (smashed in shipping, freak lightningstorm, aliens) It's scarily amazing how true the above holds, when you investigate chronic problems. The first can be fixed by working harder and smarter, the second by connecting with the customer ("do not use chainsaw for slicing carrots" and the third: absolutely nothing you can do. There are always more aliens. But you can't even figure out what's going on without feedback.

A Abba - Just because someone chooses not pay 9.99 monthly fee does not mean they are not a paying customer. Each and every time I pay lindens or upload a texture i am "paying" SL, period. Granted it is my choice, as it is also my choice to voice my opinion. ( Just like you.) Granted my post was pure frustration over an issue that is getting worst with each build of sl - which i want ll to read. My post was also direct at SL, not any particular user directly or indirectly. Peggy made choice state her opinion and I merely responded with mine - which we differ. I agree there are plenty of resources and believe me i've logged my share of complaints through proper channels. Along with looking through tons of posts to get information. What floors me is it has to take residents of both kinds, "basic" or "premium" to reproduce, log tickets, bump blogs to get them to take a look at critical bug that is quite destructive to the user experience... I may not be a regular blogger or premium account holder, but it does not make my "right" any less.

don't worry about lack of support help... I lost a whole animal folder worth 100's of US dollars and I am a premium member... I basically got the same amount of support you did. Nothing.

Doesn't matter how nice you are, how hard you tried, how right you are about anything... it's a damn tough world, and success = pleasing people. Business thrives on feedback, because it corrects the course. Absolutely, Desmond. However, (you knew that was coming, didn't you? ), Feedback is only useful if it's heard by the people who can do something with that feedback. LL has chosen a method for that feedback that does not include the forums. Offering feedback here does not get heard by the proper people. Lost inventory is something that has been here since I started.......and since you started too, I bet. LL knows about it......how they choose to handle the problem is up to them. The only way anyone can voice an objection (or support) for their actions is through contact with them........not other residents who can do nothing to help. The OP is pissed off.......rightly or wrongly, it matters not. His options are not all that limited if he is serious. He can file a support ticket, he can file a bug report, he can call LL on the phone, he can email. Or he can come here for sympathy and not stand a chance in hell of getting his problem resolved........which is what he chose to do. Hence, my lack of sympathy. And I'd like to state that your assesment that Second Life is based on business is not necessrily true. For you, yes, I believe it is........but you (and quite a few others in SL like you) are not representative of the majority of the population. You know very well that only a tiny percentage of residents ever make a dime in this game........mostly because it's hard, hard work in an unstable environment (I'm talking about LL's flawed platform). The whiners and criers about things going wrong who do not take the necessary steps to really solve thier problems are not part of that business you say Second Life is based upon. They are simply amatuers who don't have the drive to do it right. And, for the majority of the people who log into SL each day it's simply a game......either a game that is free or a game you can subscribe to. They loose inventory and bitch to their friends but move on knowing shit happens and it's not a big deal. Those who get upset to the point of being unhappy leave or severely curtail their activities in SL. That, is the majority in SL........they don't report issues like what the OP has because it's not that improtant to them. Evidently it is important to the OP but instead of doing something useful he came and cried in the forums. If he/she or anyone can't understand where I'm coming from, I'm sorry. You want something done to correct a problem.......do something to help correct it. Otherwise take your lumps and move on. Don't come cry on the forums.

My post was also direct at SL, not any particular user directly or indirectly. I've only been here a year and never lost any inventory, until this recent round of RC's and Havoc 4. Loss of inventory that people either used RL money to purchase lindens to buy or spent time in world to earn the lindens to buy *is* aggravating - especially when it is happening to a LOT of people right now and I don't see a lot of effort on LL's part to address it. Perhaps they are, but I'm not seeing any info on the blog, etc. This is detrimental to LL's business ultimately. People who were Premium account holders like the OP went Basic, some (speaking for myself) who consider Premium will definitely not do so with the grid so unstable, and (also speaking for myself), some will pare down their shopping.
