Harmony, I know you didnt REALLY want to release that blog, and I KNOW YOU KNOW that you where going to get some static about it, and I KNOW that YOU KNOW, that I KNOW your reading this, so whats up girl?
Exactly who is it that thinks releasing more mainland in a already ghost town market with a populace of 100 adfarms to every resident is a good idea? I mean its announced like its the most requested thing since butter for my bread. Here is a list of things I would like to see done BEFORE you guys decide to release moreadland. ooops I mean mainland. 1. All plots under 256 meters revert back to Govenor Linden.Give ample warning so people can rejoin thier plots if they so choose 2. Get rid of landbots- Harmony YOU KNOW well that landbots screwed up the economy for your most heavily invested residents. YOU KNOW its a issue, and we know nothing has been done yet about it. STOP LANDBOTS FROM TAKING OUR RESOURCES! 3. GET inworld and make your presence known, I think the bulk of the residents inworld have NEVER seen a LINDEN. STOP HIDING , if you expect us to live in this world, you certainly should be doing so yourself... Get these 3 tasks done, then I would think you are ready to add more mainland... Its time LL stop thinking about the mound of cash they are making, and start focusing on delivering a better functioning SL... And please take my advice, you wouldnt want me to move to San Fansisco and take a high position in LL just to start knocking heads, which Im well preparerd to do |

The lowest prices for mainland currently start at just over 9/m and near 10/m within 3 pages, and most of that is ugly at ground level. The lowest prices have been rising steadily in the past few months.
That's well over what is said to be LL's trigger level. The restarting of sim auctions should come as no surprise to anyone. We're on the roller coaster again. Some people will buy those new sims and wholesale them to minor barons for a small markup. The plots will go through a number of land-flippers. This is known as "developing". ![]() It will end up with a mix of - some (Premium) end users with builds - some (Premium) hopefuls paying tier on multi-flipped unsellable land until they dump-to-bot or abandon it. This is Ponzi/Pyramids 'R Us. - some (Premium) users renting land/builds to others Anybody buying late in the price cycle with the intention of reselling is taking a huge/stupid risk. The big winners are those who get good land early with the intention of keeping it. Where do LL think all these Premium users are going to come from? I suppose that LL will simple begin to auction the 30-odd Eastern Corsica sims that have been sitting there since August. Most of it is just a granite desert. I wish they would take time out to terraform those sims with more water. I wish that they would terraform with an eye on sim boundaries. Currently one lot make a 'pretty' map and then another lot slap on a sim grid that cuts through terrain features in a completely unimaginative way. |

I'm curious how this works. I presume the Sim goes to auction. Sells and then typically it then gets parceled off to be sold further down. Nothing is released new like that for the little guy.
Am I correct? _____________________

Right. Brand new land is sold as whole sims. So the little guy has to go through a middleman. Or multiple middlemen. There are a few minor barons out there, still, inflating prices without adding any value. _____________________

Scuse snippage
Here is a list of things I would like to see done BEFORE you guys decide to release moreadland. ooops I mean mainland. 1. All plots under 256 meters revert back to Govenor Linden.Give ample warning so people can rejoin thier plots if they so choose **I'm about to buy out a friend. He bought up tons of scraps of land in his sim to try to blot out adfarmers before they could buy them/inflate the price. They are all over the place in multiples of 16s, with just a tree or two or some Heart Garden flowers, harming no one, making pretty. Under your suggestion this would all be claimed back - there are lots of people who do this (self included in the past). 2. Get rid of landbots- Harmony YOU KNOW well that landbots screwed up the economy for your most heavily invested residents. YOU KNOW its a issue, and we know nothing has been done yet about it. STOP LANDBOTS FROM TAKING OUR RESOURCES! **Absolutely could not agree more. If gambling and banks have to be regulated why is virtual theft not addressed? 3. GET inworld and make your presence known, I think the bulk of the residents inworld have NEVER seen a LINDEN. STOP HIDING , if you expect us to live in this world, you certainly should be doing so yourself... **They can be found if you really want them, by visiting the office. This is not a popular answer probably. Get these 3 tasks done, then I would think you are ready to add more mainland... Its time LL stop thinking about the mound of cash they are making, and start focusing on delivering a better functioning SL... **The two are linked - liquidity and player base. I'm speaking from the point of view of the company I work for here, not commenting on LL. And please take my advice, you wouldnt want me to move to San Fansisco and take a high position in LL just to start knocking heads, which Im well preparerd to do **They might do that when they have the awareness to hire me to their Customer Service department ![]() _____________________

Sims did not come today. Must be technical difficulties. How odd for them not to follow through with something in a blog post.

As bad as those sims are and with all the horror stories coming out of them who would want them? Not anyone wanting piece of mind anyway.

Maybe they've decided to hold off until the website functions reliably.
There are some crazy bids for land. There's a 512 up now with a bid of L$60,000. It jumped from 5,000 straight up to 59,990, and instantly/automatically to 60,000. It looks like someone knew the max bid of the current leader, and decided to shaft him/her ![]() _____________________

Lot of odd comments here. Prices are obviously rising so demand is obviously overtaking supply. LL have very clearly stated that they want to keep land prices stable. Therefore LL releases more land to fulfill that extra demand.

Its not about keeping prices reasonable , I'm suprised you actaully falling for that Elanthius, I somehow thought your blade was a little sharper, but then again.... maybe your just being coy cause you know something.......hmm wonder what that could be...maybe you can release your landbot opensource now, you had a years worth of fun..... lets bury the bots |

Several months with no full sims on the block results in a lot of lost money from the sale of the sims and the associated tier. But part of the problem is that when land prices are too high, you have fewer end users willing to buy that first (or extra) 512, or whatever. The two are not mutually exclusive. _____________________
