This has been a real pain.... - I'm in the middle of arranging payments, worth MILLIONS of dollars, from three seprate relations that I never knew existed, who've died in three different African countries... - also this poor Russian girl wants to be my wife since she can't even afford to heat her apartment and she's got an elderly grandmother (she's really hot too by the photo, the girl, not the grandmother).. - as WELL as this I'm making the most of cut price vaigra while I can.. - and Alliance and Leceister want be to check my security login details (although I don't remember having an account with them) and NOW I have to deal with this crap in SL. There just isn't enough time in the day... edit: IBTL OMG, we must be related!!!! _____________________

too many people end up in some drama and some clique will start this kind of rumor..
i finally had to warn people at the gol project about bans and suspensions if they posted anymore of them in the chat without proof.. i remember a thread in here where one guys SL was ruined because of some silly crap like this.. since then i look at it all as bull until screen shots and anything else that would make it solid _____________________

I do know a few years ago before there was a "grey goo fence" that several self replicating object attacks did "Destroy sims". THey simply replicated on parcels that allowed entry and rezzing until the prim limit was exceeded and the owners builds were deleted. If you hunt the OLD OLD achives you can probably find it (be about 3-4 years back). LL did do a rollback on the affected sims. They also invented the grey goo fence and I THINK I remember a mention of a change to what get returned in those circumstances (but I am not positive).
No idea if its even possible to do this now. _____________________

Apparently "IBTL" means In Before The Lock.
I never knew this phrase was common enough to warrant an abbreviation. So I'm thinking, if acronyms are going to be handed out like candy im going to apply for a few! LMPO = Laughing My Prims Off (or Privates, since thats what falls off when I zoom in!) TMA = Too Many Abbreviations (I'm kinda kidding... i think acronyms cause more confusion than they are worth.) As for the sim crashing notice, this came up in some scripting groups I'm in. A few people there agreed it's still possible to crash sims with scripts. If that's true, perhaps getting this fixed should be the focus of this thread. ... If it doesn't get locked. |

I'm surprised it took this long to make it to RA. I got these messages in several group chats - NONE of the people spreading the rumour could tell me which regions he had supposedly crashed and wiped out. A friend of mine got the name of a region from one of the rumour-mongers and went off to investigate - everything was fine there. One woman who was ticked off at me for calling it a hoax in a group chat IM'd me and said three different sim admins told her it happened to them and it was true - but she didn't respond when I twice asked her to give me the names of the affected regions. I get messages like this from people trying to be helpful at least once a month, although this one seems to have been particularly viral. I thank the person for passing on the info, that we'll keep an eye out for trouble. Truth be told, though, we always keep an eye out for trouble. Let's assume for a moment that this guy was a griefer, which apparently he isn't. It's useless to ban him on your land after a report like this. If he's really out there crashing sim after sim, he's probably using a throwaway alt and the Lindens will have him wiped from the grid fairly rapidly. Why fill your ban list with names like that? |
