New Xstreet layout

Seen the new Xstreet forum colours and layout yet? wonder what they will do here next to this forum?

I have to say, not too sure it is any better looking now than it was, maybe in time after getting use to it....

YES I saw it just now... I DON'T LIKE IT AT ALL!!!

It takes forever for the pages to load now. I don't have that kind of time to waiste.
Plus I keep getting a 408 request timed out error...GRRRRRRRR

I don't know why they can't just leave well enough alone!! Every time LL make an update of what ever, they screw it up

Instead of waisting their time on things like this, they need to fix the catagory listings on the left so they are in alphabetic order, not a rambled mess like it is and make it stay open when you change pages.

If they made the change without considering load time per page, then they are....well, I won't say.

But, honestly. A shopping site slowing its load times? Is that intelligent?

Well the forum merge will be next I hope it doesn't have that yucky colour scheme thats for sure

Another 'improvement' to the XStreet design: Things that used to be visible when you went to that page, now can't be seen unless you scroll down.

Specifically, the real-estate listings on the Homepage and my own Traffic graph---I'm sure there are many more, but these are the two pages I looked at first. And both are now less convenient.

Slower-loading, less-convenient----way to go, guys!

Yeah. The new website is pretty.

LL asked for feedback on the beta, no LL didnt change anything based on that feedback, so why bother even asking for it.

Just a shame its designed to push people to XStreet at every opportunity and not provide a website that is actually USEFUL. We know where XSTreet is, we get it.

The use of ajax everywhere is a mistake, it makes the website painfully slow. Its slows down EVERY SINGLE PAGE.

I do not need a dashboard.

The XStreet feed things is pointlessly small with the volume of stuff on that site.

I do not need links to video tutorials.

Seeing how many members the groups I am in has no value to me, I dont care, who would? I mean really, who actually needs to know right on the front of the dashboard that a group has 342 people in it. Why not just tell us how many vowels the page has on it too.

Nice to see the SLurl thing in the website.... well done LL for 1 link in the right place.

XStreet doesnt match, it looks like LL have taken one ugly ass website and tried to dress it up .. Oh wait .. XSTreet needs INTEGRATION not a new coat of paint.

The ONLY thing I care about as a merchant. The transaction history, is now buried in a sub menu and thanks to a cunning design is now harder to read and slower to load.

Nice to see these forums haven't changed and no effort has been made to integrate them into the new newness, im surprised, really I am ..

Overall. Its slower than hell, its pretty, its slower than hell, its cumbersome, the usability sucks, but its pretty.

I'm guessing that it will. Clearly they're going for a unified 'top half of your screen', with the Menu items there on the left (What Next, World Map, Shopping, Buy Land, Community, Help). To get to the Forum you'll have to go through Community, but once there, I expect that same top-half-of the screen will be there, with the same color scheme, of course.

From their point of view, this is all good because though users will have to scroll down on every single page to see whatever it was they wanted to see (Marketplace items or the list of Forum threads or anything else), the banner ad is smack dab in the middle of the screen.

You won't be able to escape seeing it because what you really want to see isn't there until you scroll down.

Thus, LL will sell many more banner ads, once people realize that the banner ad is the centerpiece of each and every page.

How deeply and profoundly I do hate corporate-speak.

The change is intended for one purpose and one purpose alone: to sell more banner ads.

Took forever to find the blasted forums!

I'm sure that's purely an oversight; I'm sure they want to faciliate our sharing our own views and reactions with each other.











(Yes, that WAS sarcasm! [no, I'm not trying to say that LL is any different than any other self-protective business entity. They are no worse. It's just annoying to have it shoved in our faces this way.])

I quite like the new Xstreet colours, not so sure about the dashboard thing on the SL website though - I'll have another look.

At the top of the page is a "shopping" drop down. The fourth item in the list is the "Shopping forum".

I hate the FONT...

They won't bother to change the color scheme here. They will simply shut this forum down and force us to use the inferior blog-based monstrosity that they are using for SL Answers and the blog "Discussions". Yuk.

I can live with the bland colors, but none of the pages fit on my 1024 x 768 resolution work computer. I have to use the scroll bars to see what is on the right side of the page.
