My problem with the whole vampire thing is there is no way to actually win the game. Vampires tend to be greedy and will bite people for their souls or the blood without asking, and that gives the rest of us a bad name. Hell, there is no reason to build numbers for clans. My own clan is small and made up of friends only (I tend to be very selective about who I make a vampire).

I've always thought that Bloodlines should have some sort of Blood Doll option for those who want to remain human, yet want to be involved in the world of vampires. Unfortunately, we don't have that. I also think that people who are bitten should regain 1% of their humanity per night, just like vampires lose .25 liters of blood each night. That way five days after they've been bitten, humans will be fully human again. It might take some of the sting out of newbies who are preyed on by vampires who roam the newbie places in search of an easy bite.

I'm a vampire who has routinely engaged people in conversation and then asked to bite since I joined the game in July. If you say No, I'm okay with it. If you say Yes I bite. Pretty simple. I also won't push people into being made vampires or join my clan because if you're not going to put the effort into the game it's kind of a waste of my time to turn you. What would I get out of turning someone? Three liters of blood to store? I don't really need it because in the game I'm protected from the curse of losing vital blood each night.

My reason for becoming a vampire is it helps break the ice and it gets me out to places I'd normally not visit, like InfoHubs. I've actually met a lot of good friends I wouldn't otherwise have made if I wasn't out hunting :)

My "Human" friends all know I won't bite them unless they ask me to. I don't always ask the random strangers I meet if I can bite. I'm really more interested in getting to know people, but the bite is definitely a perk.

Plus who wouldn't want to be bitten by a Johnny Depp lookalike? *grin*

Ah what a good kid!!!
My kid, she um is an ankle biter.

/me envisions a small, pale skinned, black-cloaked vampire going for the ankles and completely cracks up.

Darn, I was going to ask technical questions about how an undead person can become pregnant and have a child...but this scene is just too good to spoil with irrelevant little details. :D

Yay! One more kid thread and I win a cadillac pedal car!

From: Jezabell Barbosa
Is that the same for child avatars? When they are in the same Sim or location as us, and talk the talk and etc, are they forcing their RP with us?

Only as much as someone flying around in a dragon avatar "forces" me to RP with them, or a feral "forces" me to RP, or... well, you get the idea.

I'm not gonna indisciminately send out requests like Bloodlines does.

From: Jezabell Barbosa
But, what if they ask me if I am there mommy? Are they forcing RP then? This has happen a handful of times to me, and I don't mind at all I just go along. I am really easy going and not uptight at all so things like that don't bother me.

I'd never ask you if you were my mommy. I did't even ask my mommy if she was my mommy. Where *are* you hanging out? ;-)

To turn this around, sometimes when I'm in public places I get asked, "are you lost, little girl?" Are those people forcing their RP on me?

From: Cito Karu
my pet peeve is every child av I've came across so far talks with a damn lisp, excuse me, types with a lisp lol.

I know my 10 year old son has no lisp so I'm just curious is it age play speech impediment or age play retardation or what?

I'm not 10 yet. I still got years to go. Ask me in 2012. ;-)

Seriously, an I've send this before, ikklespeak annys some of us kids, too. But to each their own, ya know? I have a certain level of dialect that I use too (though it is changing a bit as I get older). You can be assure I'll never speak in "1337" or use a "U" for "you." ;-)

It also tends to shift depending on situation and need. In some situations you'll find me almost purely OOC as needed.

From: Annabelle Babii
Also, kid avvies don't bite you and turn you into a kid avie.

Um... ya... we don't. No way. Not us.

She might. Although I'm not sure most people would be able to deal with a woman who has an actual mayonaisse phobia :)

The only time you have to RP and talk RP is if you are in a sim that says you must talk RP and be a part of the RP.

This means you have a meter bar, or whatever given to you when you join the RP. You can talk normal or not RP in the sim if you have a meter that says "visitor" or something like that. You can also talk normal while in RP mode if the sim rules say you can by like saying ";((Your text Here))" so that they can know that you are talking outside of RP.

But in the general world, you do not have to RP at all.

If someone asks to bite you, or tries to bite you, you dont have to accept it.

The Bloodlines RP however isn't of a sim that I know of, it is world wide. But, you dont have to be bit if you dont want to and dont have to RP if your dont want to, because it doesnt have the same rules as an RP sim.

Now child avatars, some sims dont allow them in the first place. And most nightclubs dont ether.

People in child avatars only talk child if they want to. If they dont want to they dont have to. They just do it for fun.

People will have child avatars many times to be the children of others. Often they are close friends. But they dont have to act like children if they dont want to. They just act that way to make it seem more realistic.

I have had some kids emote throwing things at me and pulling my hair, but, hey, thats what kids do. SL, to me, is all rp anyway.

I would have orbited the kid. ;)

Only in SL: a discussion of whether children or vampires are more irritating!

Talking pregnant tummies still win the "most irritating RP" prize for me.

I concur.

If I ran into a talking tummy in real life I'd run, screaming, from the building.

Children and vampires I can deal with, though the child avatars that speak with that lisp or with the "cindy brady" style "I wuv mai mommiez suuuuu much, n mai sis too but she's a butthead." talk just makes me want to drop kick them.

But that's just me.

By the way, as a vampire, it irritates the hell out of me when other vampires try to bite me without permission. I don't know where you've been, so unless I know you, please ask first. I will allow bites from people if they need the blood, but you better be low on vital blood before you ask me or I'm going to refuse you the meal. Out of habit I scan everyone I meet, and I check vampires on slbloodlines.com to see if they have blood wealth, so I'll know if you need to bite me or not.

KTHXBYE.

It's times like these that I'm happy I'm just a demon trying to fit into a human world...

You can bite me if you want - you'll probably keel over. :)

They get second place for me. Talking diapers will always beat talking pregnant tummies.
