... I create my own.
(if you know me, you know I am all about the drama anyway).
So when Vampires RP in public places, maybe asking for a nibble or 2, they are forcing RP on the general public, right?
Is that the same for child avatars? When they are in the same Sim or location as us, and talk the talk and etc, are they forcing their RP with us?
btw, I RP a vampire who has a kid, LOL.

you will find child avs dont ask to animate a av of someone they dont know and know well. So the question isnt relevant.

Well in the case of bloodlines their latest update points out that unsolicited biting is bad form.
Child AV's who RP in adult places could be a nuisance so there is that factor.

To my way of thinking, they aren't forcing any RP on anybody - any more than an eccentric person on a city sidewalk is forcing their craziness on anybody. You can choose to play into their craziness, or to be annoyed, or engage them on some other level more in fitting with how you normally conduct yourself, or to ignore the whole thing and walk away (mute as needed). Same with kid avatars. Same with posts on a forum. Note that I'm engaging you on my own level, and refusing to be forced into drama

But, what if they ask me if I am there mommy? Are they forcing RP then? This has happen a handful of times to me, and I don't mind at all I just go along. I am really easy going and not uptight at all so things like that don't bother me.

It can be thought of trying to get this kid to do something by a stranger

I can easily understand your peeve and Im a child av I tend to make my speaking (typing) coincide with where I am and what Im doing. I help a lot at NCI and only use a few child speach oh such as prolly instead of probably. Ya see if you looked at my av you would see I have my two front teeth missing so enunciation can be a problem hehe We all have pet peeves, mine is incessant survey requests

Hm. In answer to the OP, I wouldn't say they are forcing their RP on us, but I *do* find myself changing my own behaviour when a child av is nearby. For example, if I'm with Daros at the Hangout and we're being our usual cheeky, slightly smutty selves, when a child av TP's in, we both quieten down because that kind of talk isn't appropriate with a child av in the vicinity. So in a way it *does* have an effect which, while not 'forcing RP' onto us, does nonetheless make us alter our behaviour, and can make us feel uncomfortable to the point of teleporting away just so we can be ourselves again.
Interesting question, and I look forward to reading more replies on the subject (as long as it doesn't turn into another "why such-and-such is wrong and bad"-type thread).

I so enjoy the music at the hangout!! I go there often but make sure Im not there from 7SLT on and if anytime an adult av would ask I would certainly find other things to do I believe I have said that at the hangout. I enjoy being a SL kid but I also know there are times I shouldnt be at a particular place For the most part I believe most kid avs would accept having to leave somrplace.... after all, we are just kids hehe

Yeah, some of us are just more laid back like this. I always watch my mouth around child avatars. I have had some kids emote throwing things at me and pulling my hair, but, hey, thats what kids do. SL, to me, is all rp anyway.

Child AV's don't spam me with that Bloodlines crap.
To be honest, though, that's not even attempting to RP, I assume it's just clicking HUD buttons.

Me, I don't mind and I happily tolerate other RP'ers around me be it a child, aniimal or what ever fits their fancy. Just don't bother me about it.
I'd react the same way to a dog bite request as I would a vampire bite request.
Edit: A club I frequent has a DJ who sometimes uses his HUGE dragon avatar. This thing is really huge. ---But--- he is always thoughtful and mindful of others, careful where he goes and steps so not to bother anyone. That's Ok with me.

If you're bothered by SL vampires, it takes all of 30 seconds to rez a cylinder, set the radius to 0.01 m, and taper one end to create the perfect plywood stake.

=^-^= Haha love that! When FD was baby he never went poo or needed a diaper change. He didn't have parents either and smoked cigar, didn't speak or when he did speak didn't act any differently then I do in my daily Second life sometimes his humor was bit naughty... but I don't wear him no more, too much hassles. It's hard to move and build as baby avatar with tons of attachments and it freaks most people out. But I never tried to recruit Adults to become babies... Okay maybe once but she was only a baby a few times. And no poo or diaper changes was involved LOL

So the question isnt relevant. well I dunno, I ran into a child avatar once who had a diaper on that was soiled and needed it changed and asked me politely if I would change it I figured what the heck why not LOL it animated me changing her diaper pretty basic so yeah they do ask you to animate them (and this happened while looking for a good place to set up a kid's store when I was making the kids clothes)
