Question about private islands

hey say someone rented a private island off of an estate owner, and had renters or like a really kool build with high-traffic or something, and the estate owner dissapeared from SL, what would happen to the island? would it just lay dorment or get deleted?

(ps. my landlady has not dissapeared, just wonered what would happen in that situation)

islands are reclaimed when not payed so that means felonhall will dissapear along with it

Wow... thats imagination.. using the same name...thats just silly.

When a sim owner fails to pay tier on time, LL turns the sim off, and it simply vanishes from the map. They don't wipe it immediately, because the original owner might come back and make good on their debt, in which case LL can restart the sim, exactly as it was when shut off.

People who lived in a shut-down sim can, for a short time, put in a support ticket to get temporary access so they can go back and get their no-copy items and other inventory. They get nothing for their 'lost' land.

But eventually LL will recycle the sim, wipe it clean, and sell it to a new landlord. They will NOT resell it as it was, unless perhaps one of the resirents pleaded with LL to allow that resident to buy and continue operating the sim as it was.

Just wanted to point out that Ceera's post is how it works. LL just pulls plug on the sim, nothing gets returned by default.

Which is actually in the ToS that your property may be forfeit. Somewhere in there.
