Look under search and find a live music event. Like RL, some is great and some is eh, but it's always interesting. Very good one! I got to live music events a lot and yes the quality varies, also depending on the kind of music you're into I guess. But one thing I have noticed is that there's usually a wide variety of creatures around having fun and a laugh. Made some cool friends that way too.  _____________________

Has anyone had no friends on and found yourself wanting to do something so you search for some place new and only find yourself overwhelmed or bombarded only with sex or shopping? What do you do? Yes. I find it pretty annoying so I usually just open up photoshop and make something. I really don't like how huge the whole "sex" thing has gotten in SL. _____________________

Never at a loss for something to do.
When the building/texturing/sculpting is getting to be too much, I like to wander. Find a residential area and dance on some rooftops. Actually, random dancing while wearing a house/car/whatever attached your head is kind of fun. Whip out my Spanker 2000 and spank some campers ("get a job!"  . Try to sell condoms to the newbs so they won't get a computer virus while sexballing.Random building is kind of as well. Get some laying down poses, rotate them 90 degrees and toss them on a wall. Make an AO so you can walk around headless. Texture *everything* pure black. Well, maybe toss in a few full bright white prims here and there. |

I usually find some cool sim, interesting freebies, or a fun puzzle when I'm wandering around and my friends are offline. I used to end up telling a whole bunch of my friends about these places individually, which seemed a bit labour intensive. So recently I created a group where I can send out notices of these things when I find them.
The group is called 'Min's SL News Feed' and is free and open to join. Recently I put out a notice about a sim that plays old 1940's radio shows with the theme of sitting round a campfire listening to stories. I love that place when everyone's offline. Darn, I've totally gone blank on what it's called. The Haunting Hour or something like that. Thanks ArchTX for an awesome list of places to visit! That'll keep me going for a while |

I ended up catching up on sleep usually, that what I did since I posted last but I see there is list of places I can explore the next time I don't want to do the usual. Thanks _____________________

I search for new places using these forums or websites. A random google search for places in SL will usually bring up the same list but if I look hard enough I'll find a new place or two in the mix. I've yet to run out of places.
I use to go shopping but at this point I feel I've shopped out the men's clothing options that are out there. _____________________

Tiny Empires will solve all your problems No they actually drive me nuts. I am building tiny city...its very hard to texture a world for 0.60m avatars. It so hard to texture map the detail and figure out how to script, animate highly detailed things for world that small. Luckily I got few friends help but I wish I had friend with more experience on texture mapping to help. OOPs never mind that is a place? Sorry I have tiny worlds on my mind that I have been building, I didn't think anyone else was doing it....but I guess others would. _____________________

spent the past many many hours hopping from music venue to music venue.... met loads of reallly nice persons and creatures alike............
the live music scene is soooo broad, there's something for everyone and the crowds are invariably nice! just my 2c, YMMV and all _____________________

I am most definitely gonna try the beachball thingy....sounds like fun!!
Well, when I'm at a loss as to what to do I usually try to come up with the strangest bodyshape/skin/avatar that I can possibly think of.......with all the beauties out there, it's kind of refreshing to see someone 'out of the norm' so to speak. I like to change my appearance quite a bit, not for long periods of time, but often enough. At the moment I'm a 400LB fairy with a face that would break mirrors....it's very interesting walking around as one of the 'unbeautiful'......... I'd post a pic but I don't know how.....boo hoo  |
