Fixed it for ya!

Still yet another mantra of the immature. Watching you post is like opening Pandora's Box, if Pandora's Box was filled with pathetic.

Surely tho, the f-word, is not going to offend anyone over the age of 18? infact It's not going to offend anyone under the age of 18 either.

A better question, is the indirect use even offensive at all?

You are mistaken about that.

I agree. I honestly dont know what teh fuss is about. I think it's a case of peopel being offended by something they can hear and grasp on to instead of being offended by the real obscenties in our Real world.

You're kidding, right?

A lot of people are offended by the F-word.

Nyx, if you think that no one is offended by the "f-word," why are you, here, in a adult forum, calling it the "f-word"?

Re "adult" -- You're confusing explicit content with people over 18.

And yes, maybe where SOME people come from, "the F-Word" is not considered anything more than another adjective, noun, or verb.

To be fair, though, this forum isn't "adult" in that sense, right? The website is supposed to be all PG, so Nyx could be following the rules without believing that those rules are preventing anybody from being offended.

FWIW, it seems to me that if the f-word didn't offend anybody, it would scarcely be worth using.

You're both right, of course: "Adult," in the sense of "explicit," doesn't mean the same thing as 18+. But in a sense, that's my point: Nyx is implying, by suggesting that "f**k" is not offensive, that it is also not therefore "Adult." If it IS considered "explicit content," and therefore not permissible on a forum that is only "PG," that constitutes proof positive that it IS offensive to some people.

Exactly, and very much to the point, I think.

I used the f-word to get emotion across, not to offend.

Then pick up a dictionary and find another word to express your emotion. Like an adult would do.

There is no freedom of speech on a private service.

That said: yes, you can AR everyone you come across who's profile isn't PG. Noone tends to bother though, unless they have a reason to "get even" with someone or simply want to do it out of spite.

Just because the AR on you got handled doesn't automatically mean there's a "FIC conspiracy" here though.

And it would be hard for anyone to comment without knowing exactly what the pick said either (the forums are PG too so don't reconstruct it here :)). It might have been solely about the "f-word" but the Linden might have considered it harassment as well, or half a dozen other things that made them feel like you crossed a line.

The email you were sent should have a section on how to "appeal" as well.

They dont bother because they do NOT get results!!! Apparently you have to know someone.......

Wrong again.

Pep (The only rules that apply are the ToS/Guidlelines; civility is irrelevant.)

Spoken like a true elitist troll.

Seems funny to me that if one actually abides by the "profiles need to be PG" rule, your freedom of speech isn't actually impeded at all lol. Interesting thread title too.. Nope sorry, it's not any sort of free speech issue.. so there's no need to sound the "hey your rights are secretly being trampled on" siren to try to make it everyone elses battle as well. No defiant rally cries when you get caught, just read the rules next time and avoid it all together

When the females stop bashing me would seem a good time to stop. I should point out that the cancerous death threat was subsequently repeated, although not using quite such appalling language, presumably to avoid an almost certain ban. Wishing death by cancer is obviously seen as acceptable and not a transgression of the Forum Guidelines, as is evident from the support the originator of the deathwish seems to have garnered here.

Would it be better if someone wished you would die of the clap?

Pep (I discovered that "females" were irrational and emotional at that point, and that they therefore had no mechanism for convincing me of the rectitude of their opinions.)

TWO Thumbs up! :D

Interesting thing tho.... Seeing how LL is located in the most liberal, hippie-run, deep-in-debt, heavily taxed State in the USA......

It likes to come up with rules that their own Hippie Brains would probably fight against.

I guess they learned "Free Love" and "Communes" didnt work ;)
