Forum Shopping Trip!!!

Ok everyone,

I have the basic list of Forum Members' Businesses. It still needs organising with LMs in the right place etc, but I am waiting for the lst few people to add theirs into the mix.
At the moment it is just a mix of all types of shops etc in no particular order. I may attempt to organise it a bit better though.

Anyway, my question is,

Where do you want to go? I would create a separate list for the trip, to make it easier, but wht do people want on it? Furniture stores? Shoes? Clothes?
Is there one particular shop you want to go to?

I have never been on a cartel shopping trip before so don't know anything about how many shops you visit or anything like that. Help please? hehe

I wonder, if it would be easier to do a few different types of trips? Maybe break them up into categories based on what people are interested in? It could be very daunting to try and do too much in one day, especially if some of the stores are things people aren't interested in.

Then again, maybe I'm wrong. Who doesn't like shopping in SL, regardless of what it is and as an excuse to hang out with our friends?

I'm in no matter what, as long as it's a day I can make it.

/me hopes, for a Tuesday, Thursday or Friday, preferably in the afternoon, but mornings would be ok too

I'd be interested in seeing everyones shops regardless of whether its something I'm interested in buying or not. If the list is too long then I'd say break to different days but not necessarily by type of merchandise. Variety is the spice of life.

Ok so breaking it up sounds good.

At the moment I have roughly 55ish notecards (not including the ones just sent), that includes a couple of places which are just places to visit rather than shops (e.g. Liome )

I'll sort them alphabetically. We can do a few each trip. I'll have a muddle this evening.

I would like to clarify that while Liome is lovely to look at, it is indeed a business venture.

I know that lol. Thats why I said 'shop' rather than 'business'. I don't know what else to call them other than 'Places to Visit'.
I have never managed to visit Liome. Though I did once get stuck in the shipping lane while trying to tp there. I think I clicked on the wrong one lol.

I have this vision of a hoarde of pie throwers all tp'ing into someone's shop at the same time, landing on each others' heads, lagging the place to a crawl because Soji brought his helicopter and Graph just gotta dance and then a dolphin comes flying though the window looking for a bowtie and, before you know it, the shop gets a reputation as an asylum for the utterly mad.

Another thought: There is so much space at the forum. How about putting up a board (like, um, a bulletin board) where forum members can tack up tasteful notes (i.e. NOT SUPER LAGGY MONSTER TEXTURES) to tell others not only about their shops, but also other places they have built and would like to show off?

This will be a very obsure reference to most but I envision "The Opie and Anthony Homeless Shopping Spree."

there is a noteboard up at the moment at the forum (thats if it wasn't taken down for the party)

I was thinking of leaving a copy of the up-to-date notecard at the forum. Is that ok with everyone? It would be updated whenever someone sent in another notecard. Not sure how it would work, maybe just a notecard giver which works when you click? Saves people having to ask everyone 'who has the list?'
Anyway, its up to you, I don't have a clue about that stuff anyway, i'm only (sorta) good at making lists

Claire, why not leave the "non shops" on the visit list? It would give us all a chance for a rest break, and it would still help out places that don't sell things, simply by boosting their traffic figures a little.

I will do, I just wanted to sort out a list before the trip so we knew where we were going and not standing in the middle of a shop shouting to each other about where to go next, unless someone wants to be the one to take charge and decide where we all go and when?

If it is easier I will just bring the whole list.

In which case we need to set a date and time. I presume we meet somewhere like the hangout to start?
