Tried it today - when I changed clothes bits of my body went missing! Re-bake fixed it. Changed again and same problem - bits of my AV missing (like legs). Another re-bake fixed it. Not impressed!

You have to enable Adult Content in General preferences.

I am pretty much satisfied with the new viewer. I did look like a dumb silhouette with no head and prim hair at one stage but it seems cache needs to be cleared to get the thing working just so: textures and sculpt maps appear to be loading in a better, more organised fashion after doing that.
In fact, sculpties on my parcel are now loading straight away like prims and flexis are behaving like ... well ... flexis. That said, FPS is also way up for me this evening by 200% although I am holding my breath because it could just be a matter of hitting the right server/network combination on that score. I don't quite understand how the raciest piece of software can compensate for a duff connection or an overworked server. However I have to say the forum system is behaving like sh!t warmed up on a rusty pan. |

http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Old_versions I put a comment in the blog pointing people to this link, it got deleted by the lindens, so I went back and edited a previous comment of mine to contain the link and it's still there. Thanks Argent. I am going to bookmark that page. |

It's amazing that people have actually done comparative studies of forums.secondlife.com and shit warmed up on a rusty pan.

Since a tornado decided to make a salad with the trees in my neighborhood last Friday, I haven't gotten around to trying this version of the viewer yet. I don't know if I'll care to use it though, all of the previous RCs were deal breakers to me. RC3 was close, but still a bit too buggy to want to work in. Even if I do use this version, it'll only be a patched one. No avatar mesh hiding is a deal breaker by itself.
Patch is here, for anyone that wants it: http://jira.secondlife.com/secure/attachment/24846/DK_UnHack.patchI'm suddenly starting to get questions from customers noticing the lack of mesh hiding, ignoring the instructions on working around it. I have to wonder why they didn't notice that when it started in RC1. I've been directing them to relevant Lindens, recommending they encourage said Lindens to finish the alpha masking already. |

Hm, I was afraid to download this viewer but did it anyway. Nothing wrong here: Vista 64, Nvidia GTS 250. Everything seems to be okay, only the font in my contacts window seems to be kind of blurry, not much though. No major change in FPS.
But... What REALLY sucks!! is the lack of camera control. Very bad for machinima. And these forums suck too atm. |

Yeah, it's not good...Barely workable amongst all the problems, and FPS is low, on a high-end Alienware laptop.

Its piss poor. I'm having the disappearing body issue too, only not just when I take off clothes, but also when I put them on. Rebaking does help, but thats hardly a solution.
I should have had my head examined for EVER switching until forced. |

I think I solved the performance issue on my PC. One of the client parameters (probably cooperative) from the 1.22.11 shortcut seems to have been the problem. New shortcut, running okay for now.

I have seen an unusual amout of ghosts in gatherings of say 10 or more, prim hair will not fully rezz I see people with huge chunks of hairs missing... I do see incomplete avatars that will not fully rezz after 10 or so minutes..
Images are fuzzy in profile..... even after I put on reading glasses Clothing is VERY bright SL and prim. I notice an outfit I made in previous version looked fine, now I see they do not match as I thought they had ...... Was there a change in lighting, I may have missed it in the release notes. I have not really seen a drop in FPS.. (I cant remember how to call upon the meters) so this is just a guess.. this is day 2 of my installation. Hmm.... I think the ghost issue and the missing hairs is a good rason to turn back. people pay way to much money for clothes and hair and things like that to have it all worthless because they dont rezz for others or they are a ghost or their hair is missing chunks... been waiting for my prim hair to fully load while I wrote this and I am STILL missing a huge chunk in front. Some load fine, flexi hair for instance... ALso, hmm.. I did notice hte sculpties load differently, as it were a prim... |

Sounds as if its possibly your graphics card, what is it and do you have the latest driver? I'm sure my card is the cause of the black sea bed... it's not as powerful as it should be. But I thought the 'editing attached prims' thing had been fixed. Actually, just for the changed pie menu alone, I'm thinking of switching back... it's really irritating to go into appearance mode over and over and over again when I'm just trying to change an item of clothing. _____________________

I downloaded the Viewer right after some limbo when I was about to script a little thingy. So after opening the script editor window in the new viewer I got flashed with this really strange huge font. WTF? Give me back a system like font. I don't wanna write a letter, I wanna script!
At least they finally widened the profile window so no need to scroll tabs any more. |

I'm still using the RC with no problems other than alpha textures are screwwy with shadows on. Is the main viewer any different to the RC?

- Wearing any shape will make the skin portion of the head go invisible, revealing black space underneath and a huge pair of floating eyeballs (yeah really funny LL... this sounds too ridiculous for a simple graphics bug~ why didn't you make the butt disappear instead??)
- Extremely frequent crashes, usually resulting from teleports, simple open of inventory window/chat window, or from walking; usually guaranteed to crash after one hour of usage (yes even if you use it and not be afk) - Inventory window now scrolls slower (lag?) - Teleports are slower, more likely to get stuck Thank you for the new "improvements" [/sarcasm] _____________________

It was annoying for me at first too, but now I like it. I like being able to get to edit profile and edit appearance withought having to avoid my hair or other prim attachments. Soon I won't even have to think twice about it. But I'm definately more of an embracer of change. ![]() _____________________
