Complete crap. I'm getting 7 fps in places I was getting over 50 before.

I've gone back to using the last RC, it worked fine for me.

I'm seeing reports of water not appearing, "fish swimming 5m above the water", "whole island borked", all from one person, followed by their decision to uninstall it, despite having some kind of camera problem in the previouis version.

after I DL started SL back up... SL stoped responding LMAO
not a good sign, but I am back on and so far so good actually...

I like the changes in the land. Just put to a vote for my sim if they want to go full on adult, which I doubt they do they all got alts haha probably not verified and I dont want to force them to verify just to go home, even though they are alts you know>

I was using my alt today and came against my first block of non verified entry.. gowd it sucked so doh I verified her.. needed to anyway..

but I think or maybe its just my imagination my inventory searches faster.. Have not been through the rest of the .... upgrades?

well so far so good, you know you can always go back.

But pull up profiles look at that blue image replacing the grey before your photo rezzes.. wow now that cool.. (sigh)

My fram rate only goes into yellow when I get into a part of my sim that usually lags me anyway.. I can actually move around a bit better.. a

also, my fish swim underwater as well as my water looks fine...

I dunno could I have got luckY

There's a new viewer?

Sounds like I should wait on DLing though. I've been using Cool Viewer for a bit now, so I guess I missed the notice.

RC4 is the newest one...
06-15-2009 23:25
and it's been fine for me. RC1 through RC3 were giving me a lot of trouble with avatars staying as clouds forever; RC4 seems to have fixed that.

On my good computer the frame rates of RC4 and 1.22 are comparable. On my slow laptop, on the other hand, the RC is much worse.

I like it!

The only issues I've noticed are TP's take a slight bit longer, and the map takes a few more seconds to load. My frame rate is UP considerably from 1.22, and textures and sculpties are loading much faster. Haven't been disconnected into limbo yet, but knowing my luck I'm in limbo right now as I type this. Also no crashes so far.. we'll see if it does after it's been running for a long time. The image placeholder pic is friggin lame.. I mean, a guy and a girl with a question mark? Come on.. like women need any more of those type of questions

No problems here (yet). They have indeed fixed the slow-to-load texture picker and people chooser, and my sea bed is blue again. No discernible difference in fps for me. Sim crossings are still a pain. Search allows you to choose whether you want to view PG, Mature or Adult (or whatever combination of the 3 floats your boat, if verified). All pretty painless so far.

Rc3 and RC4 showed my wife with holes in her head (parts of her skin became transparent). not a very pleasant sight.
not going to touch 1.23 until that is fixed.

Ability to toggle view ban lines is huge. Might help a bit with mainland property values. Now that Zindra is opening, I expect we will encounter more ban lines everywhere else.

Textures not appearing on prims and they should, some are lighter than others and not same as the original in your inventory.

How do i get the older viewer back.

I wish it was a lighter client...
06-16-2009 06:47
... but it isn't :S

That's the main thing I'm interested, a lighter viewer. I hope some day we'll get one!

Always has been that way, at least for me. I noticed on a low drawdistance, that alpha textures were lighter the further away you got from them.

Same with this viewer, but with higher drawdistance, no problem.

I put a comment in the blog pointing people to this link, it got deleted by the lindens, so I went back and edited a previous comment of mine to contain the link and it's still there.

The sea bed is still black for me, I've started having the old problem with not being able to edit some attached prims again, and don't even get me started on the changes to the pie menu. I've lost count of how many times I've gone into appearance mode when I didn't mean to... it takes twice as long now to remove an item of clothing, or detach something. I'm thinking of going back to the old viewer. (I haven't even tried the new RC yet, I keep hearing about too many bugs.)

1.23.4

I haven't got it yet.....still workin on an old one without any problem........are there gonna be forced updates to this one too?........or have LL slackened on this.....?.......one thing most people are complaining about on the new version is lack of the friends option on your pie right clicking yourself (it's greyed out?). Wouldn't bother me particularly anyway, because I access friends contact list from bottom left communication tab.

The new 1.23.4 "Official" client still has the bug that was reported in the Release candidte version, that on occasion an avatar's lower body, upper body, or head will completely vanish. The head looks particularly gross with your eyes and eyebrows and hair (prim or non-prim) still showing, while the rest of your head is invisible!

They knew this bug was there since 1.23.RC0, and they KNEW they hadn't fixed it yet, but they pushed the client out anyway.

I suspect they just couldn't resist releasing "Version 1.23.4", with a numeric sequence as the release version.

Can we have a coding team that acts like they have at least graduated from high school, already? I'm getting sick of their incompetence and stupid jokes at our expense.
