There's a bigger picture than just the sex poseballs though, clubs, dances, animations, clothing, land rentals, furniture, homes can all be related to sex. So banning sex poseballs could lead to a decline in many other areas that aren't directly related to it.

First off, allow me to say that I come from a text-based multi-user RP game(MUSHes, look them up)and they were like a prototypical version of SL. I have also run into this very issue on these places, and it hardly surprises me to find out that these issues are STILL going on here in a place that's most well known for the horned demon women running around with breasts the size of Mercury and no less than three cocks.
The people who also indulge in teh hawt cyborz most frequently also happen to have as much intelligence as a pin in most cases, except for the wordy ones who enjoy explaining to all and sundry that if they DON'T LIKE IT, they just HAVE TO DEAL WITH IT, and that they can be as tawdry and indecent as they want because it's their RIGHT to do so. These ones also happen to have massive, massive chips on their shoulders, rivaling their ingame penii.

I'm with Madhu, leaving aside the feasibility of taking sex away from SL, and why it would be done, I'd still use SL. I'd miss the people who leave, but if sex was absolutely the _only_ reason they came here, then they were probably boring anyway. There are many things to do and see in SL.

If the OP (and others?) want "No penises, no vaginas, no sex-balls...etc.." as she put it, they are many places where they can go - you have the choice to do and experience so many other things here, (stop peeping over the hedges at what your neighbors are doing).

And for those who only see it as a sexual environment, I don't know what to say, expand your horizons.

Some may use Second Life as a creative outlet, some think it's a game, others a social network, an online dating service, <insert what you think it is> . It's what you make of it. No one should make the assumption that others are here for the exact same reasons they are. As long as you don't impose your ways on me, I'll do the same for you.

Seriously, I did not join SL for the sex and that is not my focus now, but if they removed and disallowed adult content, I would leave is a second - I do not want to be part of such a restrictive oppressed environment.

Especially since, if you believe what Uncle Phil said in that interview a few weeks ago, we all come here to escape the oppressive regimes we live in in RL.
