When you KNOW you are going to be exploring a goth area for example), do you dress for the occasion?

Do you change into winter clothes when exploring snow covered sims?

Put on space suits for sky box explorations?

etc etc.

Exploring Attire?
Here is what I wear when I explore:

I have no idea what you mean, but this picture of mine is titled: " Ship Outside Hades" for some reason.

If you fully explore ROMA, there is a way to get to the Underworld and see Hades. You have to visit the Sibyl in the Gardens of Macenas. ROMA does ask that you wear appropriate attire when exploring, and has free togas in the guest house upon entry.

Oh, I wore something appropriate, but I can't post that here. And it was many many months ago that I visited Roma. Never visited Hades, though.
closest I can get.

I do! I think dressing to match where you're going is a big part of the fun. I have a couple of Victorian dresses in my closet that will go into my steamer trunk when I finally get around to that long visit to Caledon I've been gassing about for ages.

I need to get some cute sweaters and gloves and furry coats for all the snow sims that are popping up lately!

Which reminds me...how about a group shopping trip?

The Goal is: Winter Clothes.
The Day is: Tomorrow (Thursday, November 15).
The Meeting Place is: The Forum Hangout

I'm a bit flexible on time, but I suggest sometime around 6 to 8 pm SLT.

Anybody can come! Just bring a couple of LMs for likely-looking stores, and your $L.

Anny will be there in her white mink, with the source LM, for the envious.

I was in a wintery sim earlier doin' a shot when a newbie wanted through in a bikini: she laughed when I suggested she might be cold. ;-)

Probably laughed because she was actually having a hot flash.

I generally forget to even change clothes day to day, let alone choose specifically. Can someone send me a daily IM please, to jog my memory?! ;)

Hahhaa! Dang it. I shouldn't even admit this. When these pictures popped up, Lexxi, without even thinking about it, hit Ctrl-Alt and slid the mouse around to get a better look.

SL is making me stupid.

Well, when I'm out and about, I just like to wear a raggy ole pair of jeans and a beer-stained t-shirt from the night before along with my oldest pair of worn-out sneakers...I rarely put on any make-up and usually just tie my hair back in a pony-tail.....em...hold on.....eh...that's what I do in RL....silly me!!!!!!! :o

SL is a different story.... ;)

I am sure I build better when I am wearing overalls. I always put them on for big construction jobs.

Sometimes, though, I build in a ballgown - just for the hell of it.

I built House Neko whilst dressed as a neko, Castle Tiberion and Castle Princessia whilst in a princess outfit and most of the Gypsy Vardo whilst dressed as a gypsy (although I did do a bit of that one whilst dressed as Princess Leia, I am not sure why).

I am an odd sort of person :(

As an almost exclusively furry avatar wearing player, I tend to avoid places that have "human only" restrictions. I do however have a HUD allowing me to change colour to fit the occasion, for example, when exploring wintery sims I'm now sporting an albino look with gold accessories opposed to the usual black-fur with red accessories look.

My one concession for RP sims is if I visit a Star Wars sim I will wear any required RP combat system and whatever weapon I have that's compatible, usually force-lightning since that doesn't require the attachment to actually be in your hands (I think mine's on my left-pec, which is rarely used for anything anyway because it's a pretty stupid attachment point).
I am also hoping to incorporate combat-system functionality into my kick-in-the-face animation too =)

I do occasionally make accessories for other events and things, like I might make a woolly hat as my only other concession to winter sims, considering the only item of clothing I currently have for my prim-avatar is a bikini.

I understand this absolutely Elgyfu, I wear jeans or at least pants when building, and I have a toolbelt from Depoz that I just dont feel right without.

I did build my skybox wearing different outfits, but it was such a slow long drawn-out process, doing a bit here and a bit there, that its taken weeks to get anywhere like i wanted it, and its still not finished, but if I am building for a customer, its the jeans and toolbelt. It feels more professional somehow.

Boots, Short Jeans, T-shirt, Toolbelt and yellow hard hat while building.
Cam Flight suit, JetHead helmet and mirror shades when flying my helecopters.
And something Morticia-like when stalking around my graveyard :-)

Oooh.. where did you get your hardhat? I wanted one a while ago and had to resort to a fireman's helmet.

Edit

PS I still won a prize for the build though, proudly sitting on my mantelpiece. *Preens unashamedly*

Hehe. On the one occasion I saw you in world, you changed clothes and avatars seemingly every two seconds. :)

Not only do I dress in appropriate attire for wherever I am visiting, my partner does as well and we have a lot of fun feeling "in sync" with the environment...and each other. :)

We have outfits for many types of dance venues - from ballroom to 1940's vintage jazz to 1950's sock hops - as well as attire for Medieval, Gorean, Japanese, Victorian sims. A special outfit for questing (that we picked up in Numbakulla for the Pot Healer Quest) - and then there's our "dark look" (don't ask).

I sometimes am like dat too, though it's a hardhat an toolbelt. The hardhat also comes out when I do fireworks, as well as a sparkler to light 'em with.

When I kayak, I wear my life vest When I swim, I wear a swimsuit. When I go to bed at night, I wear PJs or nightgown. If trekking around avaria attempting to hunt drakelets, I'm going ot dress for the desert - an I'm gonna put on a sweater in the Musical Ice Caves. Also, at camp, there were rainy days an cold days. I dressed appropriately, as did others.

Yesterday I did opt to wear a sweater for much of the day - an I did feel a bit out of place in more tropical climes.
