well i spoke with the owner there so he at least knows there is a situation..
without logs though he may not be able to do anything this time but if we can get him some names it won't be long before they do that again if they are regulars..unless they have had a problem with this group in the past and it sounds like what they do all the time..then i'm sure something could be done..

Yummy, 9 times out of 10 this kinda thing happens because you're dealing with shallow people to whom popularity and public opinion are THE most important thing in their sad little world. You were most likely perceived as a threat to those things, because of your looks, maybe your demeanor, who knows really. I've seen that happen before because of nothing more than a nice pair of shoes, and a lot of envy. I'd go with you or help out if you need it.. no problem hehe. If you have chat logging enabled, then it should all be there in your %APPDATA%\secondlife folder, though it will take considerable drilling down (after enabling "Show hidden files and folders" to get to it. If it all happened in local, then it will all be in a file called chat.txt. Use a text editor with a good Find feature, because this file will be ungodly long.

I'm so sorry this happened to you, Yummy. I've never been ganged up on in SL but have had singular idiots say stupid things, which then earns them the sharper side of my Gaelic tongue.

Back to this incident: Lots of good answers/suggestions here. Personally if I'd wanted to stay at that club for whatever reason, I would have begun muting. (I did that once at a club where I went specifically to support a particular DJ and by the end of his set, he and his partner were the only ones NOT muted...lol.)

Just tping out might have been my option, but none of us can say what we would have done since we weren't there. I WILL say that I log EVERYTHING and I mean EVERRRRRYTHIIING!!!! Ingrained habit from IRC.

Try making your log directory different from your SL Cache hard drive.

My Log is on an external hard disk, and when i log into SL, i hear that sucker speed up and start making all kinds of noise as i log in, it is pretty active that is for sure so i can only imagine that if it gets that active while logging in that it would be competing with the SL Cache read/write on login as well. But i am no expert.

Might depend on the OS and filesystem involved, too. I don't notice any difference in performance between having logging turned on or off in Linux.

I see no difference in performance with logging enabled on a PC or Mac, either.

If one does see a performance hit from logging, I believe it's more likely the computer is either seriously deficient or broken.

But alas, here's the issue, and maybe i looked over it, so sorry if i did,

but...

Stupid people do not realize they are stupid.

Just remember that every time you go back, and take your friends, you increase their *dots* on the map, and add to their traffic.. and help attract more.

Boycott them. Tell your friends to boycott them. Ask your friends to tell their friends. and so on and so on and so on.

When they are sitting there, all alone, and the club owner starts yelling about no traffic, and a dead club, and starts asking, they will soon either clean up the shit.. or go out of business.

Filing an ar for a personal attack on you is warranted. I'd file AR's on all of them while i was standing there letting them run their mouths. Then simply smile sweetly.. and leave.

Trust me, your absence, and those of your friends and friends friends, and so on, will do MUCH more harm than becoming your OWN mob to attack back and risk your own AR's on.
