From: Lindal Kidd We butcher the English tongue, too. We're equal opportunity language manglers. But now I'm curious. If not "fox spirit", what DOES kitsune mean?
I answered that earlier, actually: From: Maya Remblai It means "fox", especially the red fox, vulpes vulpes. To say "spirit fox" you'd have to add more words, such as kyuubinokitsune (literally nine tailed fox, refers to a spirit), or another word all together, such as youko (more generic word, refers to monsters and demons). The error probably arose from the fact that in Japanese mythology, foxes take a role similar to wolves in European fairytales, in that they're always something other than the real animal, but the word used to label them is the same.
Any Japanese - English dictionary will tell you that, but too many folks just mimic what other people say without looking into it themselves. I'm a bit more tolerant of people in SL who use words to refer to a particular human animal hybrid or something (neko for example. Neko means "cat", any kind of cat) but the profiles that say "I am a kitsune (kitsune means fox spirit in Japanese)" make me cringe.

From: Letishajade Xaris I do not lie, and i dont care if you dont believe. You just said that you did!! Lol. I was referring to the point of this entire thread, though. You present yourself as a victim when in fact by your own admission (if any of this is true) you were the one manipulating someone else. You cooked your own goose it sounds like to me.

You seem confused as well as intentionally vague. I did not 'think' you lied - you told us that you did. From: someone but when i lied and told this AV my marriage was over and i was divorcing If we have 'misunderstood' it is because your 'information' is scant at best, and barely intelligible at worst. Stop playing victim. No one can give you advice if they have no clue what the problem is. Advice-begging 101.

From: Letishajade Xaris Ok nit picker, you win i am whatever you say. I have little interest in what you are, actually. Good luck with your unnamed problem, sorry you got no 'solution' to it, but maybe it wasn't a solution you wanted, anyway. Who knows. /me dusts hands. Done with the thread, now.

You have had lots of advice though, and I'm not sure what else were you expecting could be done. Unfortunately it's difficult to advise about things that that you know but we don't. We're not a load of mind readers, you know! Someone may offer other advice, as appropriate, if you explain what's happened instead of getting miffed. Basically, most available options have been offered: If there's anything that's written in a profile that is illegal or against LL's rules, then AR it if it bothers you that much. If this person says or does something similarly, then AR them - but DO be clear in your report about what offence you're objecting to and supply evidence. Check what you are talking about against the TOS beforehand, if you're not sure. Otherwise simply ignore them. Mute them if necessary. -- Aes
