The Plan

Just a recap. The plan for this weekend is:

Tomorrow, Saturday 10th December: Meet in the main downstairs bar at the Broadway Cinema (http://www.broadway.org.uk) Nottingham (or in the lobby if the bar is too busy) at 8PM. We'll stay there until at least 10 to make sure we meet everyone, then may head off somewhere else as a posse. (so you know who you're looking for, I look like this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/nottingham/content/articles/2005/02/15/features_people_2005_02_jim_purbrick_programmer_feature.shtml)

Sunday 11th December, 2PM - 6PM, The Mezz Bar (upstairs) at the Broadway Cinema "C U in RL", presentations on Machinima by Ricard Gras, SLRR by Nigel Linden, Artificial Life by Surina Skallagrimson and Scripting and Mono by me, plus lots of discussion on everything SL. After 6PM there will be more drinking at the Broadway and beyond.

All welcome, all events are free entry.

I now can't make it on Sunday. Central Trains cancelled my train, and there isn't another one until too late.

You've missed it, it was last weeked...

Quick summary,
Saturday night met up in the bar of the Broadway, got drunk...

Sunday, presentations by Babbage Linden on SL basics (for the non-residents present), LSL and the move to mono and it's implications.
Nigel Linden talked about the SLRR, the problems converting "pretty" rails tracks to working ones, a short tour of some of the stations and a ride on the train.
Resident Brutt Grasshopper gave a talk on machinima along with some DVD demos.
I mumbled something about the ALife projects and my fish... Did I forget anyone?

This was followed by informal Q&A and general chat. There were a number of non-residents present for the Sunday presentations and they seemed most impressed.

Had a great night, was real glad to meet with a few of the residents of Second Life, sorry we couldn't stay to meet the rest of you on the Sunday. Thanx to Harry,Data, Jack,Jeff,Babbage, Surina and Gizmo along with the crowd of friends we went with Min ixtab, Sorceress Diamond, Saphire Sunset and Southy Buckenburger

Sadly I couldn't make it as my dad had a 70th birthday party last weekend.

Thanks very much to Babbage for organising this one. I'm tentatively thinking of sorting another one for springtime, probably May, either in London or (crazy thought) Amsterdam, which is really cheap to get to and stay in and we may get some other Euro folk attending which would be nice.
