Jack, Harry, Nigel, Data, Tesla and I would like to invite you to the Euro Linden Christmas Party in Nottingham, England on Sunday the 11th of December!

If you're interested in coming please let us know on this thread. Once we've got an idea of numbers I'll try to organise an appropriate venue (or failing that just choose an appropriately sized pub).

Cheers,

Babbage.

UPDATE: By popular demand, we are now meeting up on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th, for more details see /234/04/72782/1.html

Pity it's Sunday...any chance for Saturday? I would have to get back to work the next day, probably sleep over at some hotel. Lemme check if I can get some time off. Me and my hubby would definitely be interested. :D

Sorry, the date is set, but I'd like to start early on Sunday to give us as long as possible and make it worthwhile for people travelling. We could start around 2PM and keep it sober and civilised in the afternoon for those people who need to drive home, then head to the pub later on for some drinks for those who are up for it.

Hi, I was wondering if its possible for any of us to go? I think I might be able to make it. By the way, where in Nottingham will it be held at?

Yes, the invitation is open to all. Once I get an idea of the number of people interested I'll organise a venue, so let me know on this thread ASAP if you'd like to come.

Cheers,

Babbage.

If you need to book a room for the Saturday or Sunday night, my friends recommended the Jury's Inn when they came a couple of weeks ago.

I had a look and they had rooms for 2 people to share from 59 pounds/night. It's right in the centre of town, so very easy to get to no matter where we end up.

Ooh, I've enjoyed staying at Jury's in Dublin so I'm feeling positive about this choice :)

UK Second Life Monster Christmas Weekender! (With Lindens!)
11-23-2005 13:08
By popular demand we're turning the Christmas Party in to a Monster Christmas Weekender!

So, if you wanted to come on Saturday, didn't want to make the trip just for a Sunday or couldn't come as you have to work on Monday you now have no excuse!

The current plan is to meet up at 8 PM on Saturday 10th December, stay out until everyone has had enough and then meet up again at 2 PM on Sunday 11th for a more thoughtful, sober event in the afternoon before going drinking again on Sunday evening until everyone wants to go home.

I will be around for the whole event, the other Euro Lindens will be around for some or all of it. Feel free to join us for as much or as little of the festivities as you like!

Please let me know if you're interested in coming on this thread as soon as possible so I can get venues sorted out and then we can plan the events in more detail.

Cheers,

Babbage.

Screenplay SD "C U in RL", 2PM -6PM, Sunday 11th December
11-24-2005 07:03
We now have a venue for the Sunday afternoon event!

Screenplay SD "C U in RL", Sunday 11th December, 2PM - 6M, The Mezz Bar, Broadway Cinema, Nottingham (http://www.broadway.org.uk).

It should be ideal as they have a big plasma screen and a fast net connection that we can hook up to a laptop to do some Second Life "show and tells" (post on this thread if you'd like to talk about your Second Life at the event) and they serve beer :-)

We've organised it as a Screenplay SD (Super Deformed) event, so that we will get some of the Screenplay crowd along to find out what Second Life is all about (http://www.screenplay.org.uk)

Also, I've spoken to the Braodway staff and they think that it shouldn' be too busy on Saturday, so I suggest we meet there at 8 PM on Saturday as well so that people know where it is for Sunday.

So, if you're interested in coming and or doing a Second Life show and tell at the event let me know on this thread and I'll work out a programme.

Look forward to seeing you all!

Cheers,

Babbage.

All being well, i'll be there - though I don't have anything to show and tell i'm afraid (well, nothing that I wouldn't be locked up for!! :D)
