Negative Ratings-Has it gone to far?

recently someone rated me bad for the first time, but she did it too late and it went to my e-mail (proof!) I calmly confronted her on the random bad rating, and first she said she had no idea what I was talking about, after mentioning the e-mail, she begrudgingly rated me back to nuetral, except my building one, I brought that one up then, and she finally put me all nuetral again. (I know, what a b*tch) I rated her well for cooperating and left! so I retain my clean record

There is someone who has in their profile that all their negs are from me. A lie. I gave 3.

I contacted Linden and asked to have it removed as it's libel. Colin's response was that we can put whatever we like in our profiles about other people, even if completely false.

So I now have in my profile that a friend gave me all my negs. It was a joke between us. He's never negged me.

For a while someone else who was griefing me put in his profile that I'd given him all his negs. It wasn't a joke. He did it to further grief me.

Bottom line, why do you ask, Hamlet? Because someone puts their negs are from someone doesn't mean they are.

Edited to say: I asked Colin if I could put in my profile that he's a pedophile and he said no, that is one thing they would remove.

Okay I'm posting again to say that some time back someone (I think it was Essence) posted something about nullifying neg ratings.

I found it interesting. What the neg rating griefers are doing is just that -- nullifying neg ratings. Neg rates have already become meaningless to many residents, and if the griefers keep it up, before long neg rates will be meaningless to everyone. And the griefers will stop and move on to something else.

So actually, if neg rates bother you, you should neg rate as many people as you can, and encourage everyone else to do the same Darko has the right idea

Personally I think the rating system in the way it was designed works, however like any other system out there... someone is bound to take advantage of it and use it to ruin others.

I have yet to give someone a negative rating. And hope I never have to, everyone in world is nice and even those newbies who go nuts with their first weapon and shooting everything that moves... Once those newbies become bored with that and settle down they become positive members of the community.

But then there are those who like to cause trouble, and like all online communities and games they're out there, and there's little that can be done to help them.

About 3 weeks ago I got triple-negged by someone whose bio said something akin to "By the way, my neg ratings given are so high because people are stupid" or something. I was in my rainbow phoenix avi. The triple-neg rating came with the simple additional text "ur ghey".

Makes me ponder just who's the stupid one, really. :>

It was also an account that was about 4 months old according to profile datestamp, so it was no "freebie alt" either.

I never negged back. I don't neg back. I've never negged anyone and I don't plan to. if people are jerk/dork/twit material, I just ignore them. If they get pushy or start breaking rules, I report them. And I don't tell them I am. They're not worth my time to speak to. And I won't get sucked into their game. ^_^

I got treble negged yesterday - my first. I was chilling out on my small plot and this dweeb bounced over the mountain in a huge sphere and landed on me and my small plot.

I told him to move it - all I could see was the inside of this stupid thing and as he wouldn't I asked rather more forcefully. So he treble negged me. I IM'd him and asked why and he said I was a snob lol.

So, if you are reading this, I know you are out there and I'll pay you back big time one day.

Personally I will not lower myself to neg the idiot back.

The sooner the Lindens get rid of this system the better.
