Mocha has gone through some significan upheavals recently: several people leaving for life in the southern sims, re-distribution of land amonig the people remaining, and general reorginization.
Mocha doesn't have a defined theme, but being close to a tele-hub, it's a good location for setting up a shop - as many have.
I have more land in Mocha than I really need, so I am looking for a good builder/designer who wants to set up shop in a sim with several wonderful people. Adjacent to that plot is also about 3000m of land for sale (by David Baskerville), although the price is steep.
Our newest resident, Cienna Rand, has opened PrimCrafters - a prim-based glasses shop. It seems that she's still developing the remainder of her land.
Damien Fate's popular gallery is where it has always been. I hope it will always be there.
Francis Chung and Kex Godel have their residences in Mocha, and are working on a project together (with others) - the details are not fully disclosed.
Aurican Sunchaser has built a large pyramid - ask him for a tour, if you happen to meet him.
Siobahn Taylor and Julia Curie have a fantastic shop named MochaStyle - check it out, if you're in the area.
Relee Baysklef and a few others also maintain residence in Mocha.
Please feel free to IM me with any questions or comments you may have about our little slice of the the world.

Federal Update:
A war of sorts has peaked in Federal. Mayhem, revenge, strife, and technical searches abound. Will this Sim survive and what will the aftermath be? Time shall tell the tale!

Leda Leda is beginning to look lived-in. Quite a few new landowners are setting up their homes and stores. I have set up my ARMORD store, selling Science Fiction robot and power armor avatars. We also have an apartment building owned by Coreina Grace. I'm not sure if she's filled it yet, but be sure to check it out.

The once-scenic skyline is now dominated by houses for sale, thrown haphazardly up into the air, in all their sloppy glory. It might be ugly, but at least it makes it difficult to fly through and causes some lag!
I might be selling soon, if this keeps up or gets any uglier. Alas Jenner, I hardly knew ye.

At least there is one rest stop for the weary traveller, a lovely island of color, light and exotic scents, open to all and inhabited by creatures of exquisite beauty... :^)

Gualala
04-26-2004 08:34
Gualala has been an incredibly quiet sim for a length of time. Some private homes, a shop or two. In the last week a few more buildings were added. The Zion Project has established its base there now. A futuristic building which will be the main center of activity and will function as gallery and meeting place. It will be featuring rotating exhibits and will hopefully turn into a focus point in the area.
Caution! The Zion project is in a mature sim featuring art and installations of mature nature (not porn - if you are looking for porn it is the last place to go).

Janus - Still Screwed
04-26-2004 11:15
Sadly, Janus, once a sim of great hope and potential, is still largely screwed by the script-polution coming from the large open air mall just by the teleporter. This same thing brought many of the builds in Rich to their knees when I build the Bhodi Tree Gallery there. I know it gets said over and over again, but just as we had to tie prim usage to amount of land owned to create fair use for all - there REALLY needs to be something done about server resources as well. Work on several builds has been halted, and plots now have names like "ruined Janus plot". It's sad, really. Very sad.

Immaculate:
Headlines: More Immac Celebs Move On After well known celebraties Misty Rhodes, Reve Monde, Nolan Nash and others departed from Immaculate more than month ago for estates in South SL, it created a land vacuum and a chaotic game of musical parcels ensued. After the high turn over, Immac gained some new faces who have filled the void land with great builds. Recently, Immac has endured the loss of epic builder Kris Ritter and the smile of Immac, Rocket Roentgen. Last week the ledgendary Kritter Kreek was disassmbled and packed into boxes and the Rocket Pit was filled in making their owners' absense tangibly real. After the two stars departed there was a quiet turn over of the land with the current residents. While this will, sadly, not bring new people to Immac, it will give the current residents a chance to stretch their virtual limbs and create new and exciting build not yet immagined.
Is Immaculate growing larger? A recent study by the FF Immaculate Geology Department of Indipendent Tests (FFIGDIT) has released a study that Immaculate has grown 0.000009m in the last 6 months. The relevation, if proven true should not get hopeful land enthusiasts excited too quickly however. "If this trend continues, we will see a 1m addition to Immac. in about 56,000 years," said Dr. forestrock Flower, FFIDGIT's founder and most senior researcher. This announcement comes amidst accusations that the instrumentation used in the measurements were nothing more than bare prims launched at the simulator's boarder for the amusement of the FFIDGIT members. When asked, Dr. Flower refused to comment on the instruments used and flew away.
Other News: Strange Things in the Sky There have been a number of reports that hunter seeker drones have been wandering the skies of Immaculate in the last month. The SL Police reports, while written tongue in cheek, seem to describe similar gray objects, with two appendages and red lights. While the SL Police have not launched an official investigation into these sightings, Immac. residents remain wary. "Yeah, darndest thing, they'd just float around as if looking for something.... or someone. I think the government's involved, but of course they're not sayin' diddly. I even saw a taxi-eater flyin' around not too long ago too!" remarked one such resident at an SL Live party. Since then all traces of the gray objects have since disappeared and reports have dwindled.
Search for Lost Lindens Continues It has been two weeks since 5 Lindens traveling through Immaculate were last seen. The Lindens, were returning from a hippo round up in Io and were heading North back to the welcome area in Morris. Witnesses saw the group fly into Immaculate in the late evening and sources say that they never made it out the other side. "We've really been concentrating our search on the north west corner of the simulator. There is a rather dubious castle there where the lost Lindens may have become injured or trapped," said search lead Test Foo at a S&R meeting last night, "We're not giving up on them." The search which has been on going for two weeks has lost some support however. If you would like to volunteer to search, please go to Immac and look around. If you do find Tiny, Stretch, Nurry, SirNotAppearingInThisGame, or DragonFan Linden please direct them to the nearest teleport hub.

These are snippets of my own current projects...I don't really seem to spend a lot of time in one sim to know a lot of conditions in them apart from what I see at the time, so my accounts will be rather ego centric and biased. I apologize in advance for this.
Natoma: Francis Chung and I have built an olympic sized (50 meters by 20) public swimming pool in Natoma this last Saturday (near 206, 110). I have a sort of wave effect that she wanted to try a variation on, and we set it up in Natoma because at the time Argent had an FPS of two, and frankly I just like Natoma.
Anyway, I think it is and will become one of the silliest things in SecondLife by its very nature and some of the plans I've got for it.
Future plans include: 1. Marco Polo games 2. More dead bugs floating on the surface of the water (I only have one so far). 3. Perpetually sleeping lifeguard 4. A set of pool rules 5. Swimming accessories: fins, masks, snorkels, rafts, waterwings, innertubes. 6. Possible volleyball setup...this one is going to take a lot of thought, I think. 7. More public pool kitsch. Need lots of kitsch!
I think I'll post about this in what was once the General Discussion forum.
Noyo:
Work on the Ivory Tower Library of Primitives (180, 180 ish) continues a pace. I've got a lot of the prim distortions mapped out on the second floor and Module One is starting to shape up pretty well. In the end I hope this will be a comprehensive and up to date interactive, in-world manual of all building techniques and practices. This one's going to take a while, gang!
Other than this, Noyo seems pretty quiet apart from events held by Nexus Nash at The Source.
Ritch:
FPS is around 2 or so lately...I haven't been there so much. It seems very quiet and still.
My long neglected museum project incorporating Bhodi's Tree Gallery will someday lift off...I'm beginning to approach it from the point of view that the Ivory Tower Library of the Primitives is a part of this institution.
Thanks for reading!
Lumi

Solang Report
05-05-2004 20:22
The Island Sim of Solang is peaceful and beautiful and all residents get along pretty well.
The Gardners- Rafe & Rosa have happily moved from Myrtle bringing the new and improved Gardner Castle floating in the air in the SE Corner. The Castle is beautiful (wish i could post a screenshot but i'm at work) and has just held it's first event on Tuesday. The Gardners have held up to their name with their beautiful landscaping continuing to brighten the SE of Solang.
Most of the other residents of Solang are still in the process of building their waterside residences, all of which are coming along beautifully. Worthy of mentioning is Joshua Chaos' house which looks wonderfully realistic and may even be to scale (have to check that with him).
The hillside site owner by myself while still looking bare is set to become home of Rubio Studios (a game studio where people can come relax and enjoy some games i have been working on). Construction is slow but there are 2 games currently ready to play on the dev platform (see teleporter on land to go there).
Overall Solang is quiet (except for boats and jetskis zooming by ) and all residents are content in our Island home.

Mimas
05-06-2004 19:42
This relatively new sim is developing a reputation for attracting Bohemians and creative folks within SL. We've very quickly bonded into The Bohemian Salon and now share meetings between here and Indigo.
Erotica Magazine Editors Alana Monde and David Valentino have built a Gallery and home here. As well as being frequent contributers to Bohemian Salon, they continue to host many wonderful events in other Sims. David's Gallery is aptly named Extreme Erotica and Alana's Gardens and waterfalls are a must see!!
I've built and Arts and Crafts movement inspired home as well as a Tibetan Dharma Center close by. Ray Dillon has a castle home on the mountain above Alana and David. He and I are working jointly on a nieghborhood garden and coffee spot with a few small shoppes. I'm hoping to do a french quarter look to continue to support the boheme theme.
One of the coolest places is Leah's who is a cartoon AVI and has built a cartoon home. It really looks like Mimas may spring into an artist/writer/musican enclave which is exactly what I had hoped for since it really think Mimas looks like the California Canyons and Hills.
