Geez Pituca, you should submit that picture of Taber for the photograph contest. That's so pretty!

That is a great shot.
Maybe we should add a pic of each sim from the same angle as way of historical Record.
I'll be happy to put them on the Secondlife Snapshot webpage I am starting on webspace provided very generously by Ama.
Please send me any great lardmark shots either in game or via email.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Update from Lusk
03-11-2004 08:10
Some changes in Lusk estates; the satellite dish myseriously disappeared. What was its purpose? Television? Telecommunications? Lawn ornament? Communications with extraterrestrials? We may never know. Private plots have been developed, with at least two new cottages and a small garden and fountain. One lot grew practically overnight into a forest... things near the mountain ridge and the shared border with Luskwood are looking more green.
Vehicles continue to accumulate against the ridge behind the Linden Bell office, leaving some residents wondering at the myesterious attraction their home seems to hold for wayward motorcycles and F-16s.
Something continues to intermittently go 'bump' in the night... and day... More residents have begun searching for the cause. Yesterday, there were mysterious sightings of "potato men" invading from the south. These seemed to become stuck in the terrain, where they would twitch and make obnoxious sounds. One resident resorted to sitting on her house and taking pot-shots at them with her revolver until they fell into silence.
A few residents raise eyebrows at one owner's ongoing attempt to get L$10,000 for about 300m^2. One new resident has it on good authority that land has been had for as little as L$1/m^2 in the last week and, in his opinion, "You'd be nuts to buy or sell far above that rate."
Strange days, indeed!

MYRTLE : NEWSFLASH! THe strange occurances in myrtle continues..having obtained approx 30 such sightings over the course of the week in photgraphic evidence. Upon careful examination of these samples.. it has been concluded that they are GHOSTS!! *pauses for collective SL world gasp* Most, all of the ghosts were witnessed in a triangled area in Myrtle.. occurances of this circumstance were witnessed daily. Is there a Myrtle Triangle.. should we post a warning to all sailors, and pilots? BREAKING NEWS!!!! The av ghosts have broken free from the examination lab.. they scattered the skyline like hot air balloons in a summer sky. We did our best to wrangle them up.. but they evaded us with their phantom powers.. we were able to track one to a large castle high in the sky in Myrtle.. upon closer look they are all there.. haunting the castle now.. If there are but a brave few who are strong in heart and iron in gut.. come forward and greet the castle ghosts.. Code Smith has placed a red ball on the dock of gardner mountain.. next to alien landing hub. for those souls brave enough to witness the haunted av ghost castle thank you code

Periwinkle
03-12-2004 07:43
Ok guess I'll enter this....I like the thread idea btw. periwinkle currently spots Magnum's Castle , the Periwinkle Mall ( both south side) and 3 small lots in the center. The northern coast is still under heavy construction - well when I get around to it. The main building is almost finished...some landscaping has been done....the coral reef is not as far as I wished but it is on the ToDo list and I am working on the waterfalls/streams. The northern coast behind the main building is mainly water area now and I hope edkc weill join into this development. (in case you see a construct floating in midair back there - I use the area to build sometimes - 'the Lab').
The train cutting through the main hill is now tunneled on my side...will still need to check whether the train can pass through and adjust, but with a lil more landscaping I think it will be quite neat.

Cowell
Things are pretty quiet in Cowell. There is a plot of 512m^sq land roughly in the center for sale at $5000, which seems a bit steep for something with not much of a view and in the bottom of a valley.
My own property is bordered on one side by a very nice glade of trees, and on the other by some rather large, boxy, black homes. I would appreciate it if people would work their homes into the landscape better. You're all in my view, after all.
The Time Plunge, while very inventive and fun, is a big eyesore IMO. I suppose it's technically in Noyo, but it's still a giant black box.
I've been chatting quite a bit with Etain Peregrine, who lives over the ridge from me. She is building a lovely Egyptian themed home overlooking the sea.

Abbotts... now with 100% more Ts
03-12-2004 11:13
Abbotts is preparing for the onslaught of visitors tomorrow. Signs are up, new rides will be placed tonight, and the raffle/lottery boxes are out. All systems are "GO" for the SL Vehicle Expo. And in other news, in a surprise move, Linden Lab changed the spelling from "Abbots" to "Abbotts". I spent over an hour last night changing signs, making new t-shirts, and renaming things. Hoping it doesn't change back

Myrtle - growth Myrtle is growing! Or our little corner of the world seems to be With the addition of Deimos we have several new and Im happy to say freindly neighbors. A gazebo has gone up in the center of the waterway on the edge of Myrtle and Deimos its design is beautiful and delight to look at. Other homes are going up quickly about us on the water on border of Deimos and Myrtle as well. The Apollos have been busy building on their lot, a large white building on very high stilts has appeared, speculation as to if its a home, or a church, or something else are yet to be clarified. The Monde's have also been quite busy on their land in Myrtle, its been a delight to watch the consturction of the ships they steadily work on. At the time i write this three ships are docked at their site, A british navy Merchantman, french navy carrack, and a priate ship. The formal fashions for sale inside the shop are beautiful nice to know myrtle has such tremendous craftsmen Tyra Valkyrie, and Temptress Twilight would also qualify under that label as the homes they have built in Myrtle are simply gorgeous! Amindars Simple Hut is far from simple in its visual delight. Schwanson keeps saying he is planning a beach house but as yet it is not seen Jodiette and Rhett have constructed a place in Myrtle right on the water. It borders the Bolinas sim, and resides right next to mickeys marina. The sign on the entrance says Myrtle Pub., it looks very well built. A corner for a band to play, tables and chairs, quaint little bar area, and plenty of spaces for boats to dock to come enjoy. Be sure to check all these places out, its a journey well invested! On the Gardner front, I am sad to say the first grumpy wandered too far from home. he disappeared. we looked high and low, but to no avail. its sl so taking a spare grumpy out of inventory we once more have the little scrapper swimming about the pond, however lingering hope still remains grumpy #1 might someday be found The ghosts in the castle were tough, over taking the entire place but weve coraled *sp them into one section and have begun to set up displays of other places, ppl and animals of sl around them to keep them entertained Much activity is bustling in Myrtle. if your out and about come say hello thank you for reading

Well, I'm a bit late getting here ;P Thanks Loki, you're great as usual!
In Bonifacio, along the west coast, you'll come to Venice. The Rialto Bridge is complete. If you would like a store/stall on the bridge to sell your wares, please just IM me in-world. You can give me your email address for a quicker response (from work). I’ll be putting free Carnival masks back up in one of the shops. I hope you come and see the work we’ve done to recreate Venice!
Thanks!, Love Ingie

Baker
03-23-2004 07:57
... ... well, i won't be reporting on Baker anymore (not that i posted more than once, but anyway...).. currently: Baker is now down to a total of (i think) 3 owners! my prediction is that it will end up down to two owners before long. The castle seems to be coming along rather impressively! IMHO it looks great.. and i imagine it will be quite the grand sight to see when it's completed (is anything ever completed in SL? hehe) But Alas.. i have sold my precious plot: MoonSeeker End. i will miss it greatly, it was a beautiful spot with always-breathtaking views of the landscapes. looking across to the new lands in the south... *sigh* well.. onward and upward... i've moved to Ganymede, right by the Dam and will report someday about the goings-ons there. ...good-bye MoonSeeker End...

Stillman
03-23-2004 11:57
Not much going on in Stillman today... its seems things are pretty quiet, as usual.
There is a new shop that opened up a couple of weeks ago (I forget the name).
Cyrus, Robinson, and I have been working to open up the waterway on the northern coast for better boating.
I have my prototype apt. tower up, probably to the annoyance of the neighbors, but I've also been adding more trees to spruce things up.

Periwinkle update
03-26-2004 09:49
Now that the Maroon Mall and Periwinkle Mall are gone the Sim is slowly being rebuilt.
The first steps were a bit of terraforming providing some waterways. The one main creek connecting the North and South is being formed into a 'rainforest' enviroment and will very likely be a 'No Fly' zone. Near the telehub an info center and a event area are taking on form. The northern bay area is under heavy construction currently.
I will keep this updated as we progress.

Abbotts Update
03-29-2004 06:54
There have been reports of window- and door-rattling booms across Abbotts and the vehicle sims over the past couple days. One person reported seeing a small, very fast airplane flying around. It seems there may be something suspicious going on at Hangar 3.
