So we're looking for suggestions: which celebrities would you most like to play SL?
And to turn it around, which people playing SL now remind you of celebrities? (Because, for example, their AV or their dialog or their personality reminds you of one.) Who's the J. Lo of Second Life? Who's the Julia Roberts of SL? And so on...

Real celebrities or geek.celebrities?
I would love Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean making fantastical on-line content.
I wouldn't mind chatting in-world with Neal Stephenson and William Gibson to see what they think of all this.
I wouldn't at all mind seeing Jean-Pierre Jeunet running around making little Amelie-like short plays. (or a host of other directors, I just mention him because I think SL has something of the feel of Amelie for some reason).
Also, given that this is second[/] life, if I was a celebrity, I would be very guarded about revealing my real life identity.
P.S. I am not J-Lo
P.P.S Yes, I am J-Lo
P.P.P.S No, I'm not.

I think Howard Stern would enjoy being in here. He often goes into chat rooms (anonymously) and talks about it on his show. I've sent him my referral link and offered to show him around.

LOL I think Howard may have issues with violating the PG sim rules lol, I doubt he could control himself in fact i bet he would find joy in it! But it would be a riot to see him in here, maybe the lindens would even make the last name Stern just so he could be Howard Stern. If he does come, i'll be taking wagers on how long it takes for him to get suspended lol! JV!

From Charlie Omega's list, Vin Diesel is actually a likely candidate: like I mention in that Salon thingie, it turns out he's a hardcore D&D player!
A few years ago on Letterman, Robin Williams mentioned playing Quake online; he also plays online with Steven Spielberg, I've read elsewhere. A professional baseball player is a hardcore EQ fan (spacing on his name), and I'm sure there's a handfall of other celebrities with an actual stated interest in online action...

How about Christopher Judge from Stargate SG-1? My avatar is modeled after him. Here's a side by side comparison.

I want Portal Dave to join us (not that many of you would know who he is). I could even give him an AV so he could look like himself. Yay!
Psh.. I laugh at the silly fanboy.. Hahaha

Yeah, unfortunately celebrities would never tell us they're playing with us. I really wish they would but I know how freaky people get when they're in the presence of stars. Just look at how everyone acts when Philip Linden shows up to an event! What'd be cool if maybe we had some Linden say "by the way, this celeb and that celeb are playing, but there's no way in hell we'll tell you under what player " and maybe the celeb would be able to pick out who's mature enough to know their playing But, yeah, that's all weird. Seeing as how I've gotten into reading, I would like to see Neal Stephenson or Orson Scott Card One last note, if Keanu Reeves ever plays, I do hope he lets me know, seeing as how I've got his clone in-game

There is a local bar with pictures of the cast in it and he pops in around the holidays. Funny all the restraunts that have really nasty greasy food have signed pictures of him in them. Xavier

I'd like to see some famous hippopotamous's in here but as there aren't really any i'd settle for a nice big juicy national figure.
i'd love to see bush in here (please lets not turn this thread into a political debate) or Bill O'Reilly.
Aaron Lewis from Staind would be another pick of mine.
All I can think of for now.

Who would I like to see these people inworld:
-Dave Meinstein (from G4's Portal): he is inworld, but only to film scenes for the show... I would just like to sit and talk with him about comics and role-playing games (two of my favorite hobbies as well as his)
-Drew Carey: He's in The Sims, why not Second Life?
-Vin Diesel: He's a big D&D fan, and would love to see him playing in Xavier's AD&D game
-Robin Williams: Put him in a Mature sim and watch out! The sim would crash from all of the laughing gestures
-George Carlin: See Robin Williams
-Dennis Miller: This game is esoteric and quirky enough for his tastes
As for who I would like to see play Alexis Fairchild if there was a Second Life film made? It would have to be one of three choices: Sarah Michelle Gellar, Kirsten Dunst or Claire Danes.
Bye bye for now, Alexis

First thing that popped into my head about in game 'celebrity types was that Lynnix Muse is like Audrey Heburn, only instead of acting, she makes. It's all so delicate, charming and beautiful.. and she seems to me a very well-mannered and sweet person.
There is only one 'celebrity' that hasn't already been mentioned that I'd like to see in game: Dale Chihuly. If you're not familiar with his work, Google him. He'd probably freak and quit after a day because he couldn't bend prims to his whim, but I'd still love to see what he would do...
