My vibe is odd???? If i understand you what you do is you play about with another persons texture ( lets hope its not copied write protected ) that you take from a web site we can assume its public domain. You then play about with it in lets say gimp then you post it on some site and send them the link so they can get it up load it to SL and make the clothing from it. Now as for tats much the same but made on an alpha layer.
As for me misunderstanding you I dont think so I get the pic clearly you want someone to give you L$ and hope you will pay them back. Call me stupid but since you claimed to have had a business but your AV is not to old I for one would be very suspicious and I would also wonder if the story is true after all this is SL and as they say in RL theres one born every minuet

To refrain from making a fool of myself (though it might get this topic locked, which I would like since you are all being... hypocritical, to say the least), I will say this.

I have previously stated that I cannot upload a single damn thing to SL. It is impossible on this computer. You must understand that I find people who would be willing to do it for me.

I'm rather curious what it is that causes the inability to upload. Sounds like quite a problem.

Kay. Just because I am new-ish, it doesn't mean I'm automatically retarded in every way possible when it comes to SL. My business consists of an idea, that's it. Some of you have dragged this out thinking that I have a shop, I can pay the rent, yada yada... you know that drill. I'm quite tired of getting IM's in-world calling me the biggest liar, a stupid newbie, and, my personal favorite, a threat to society.

I'm sorry I posted; I didn't know you would all come up and bash me. And believe me -- you're bashing me.

My original concept was to see if anyone would be so kind to help me out... not bash me (oh, another IM, "You'll never make it in SL, so why don't you just stop playing now? We don't need more amateurs.".

Two things.

One, I meant to say I CAN'T upload, not don't. Even though, I kinda don't.

Two, I'm running from a computer that isn't made for any gaming of any sort (except for maybe online checkers?) and doesn't have very good graphics cards. I don't know why exactly it won't let me upload, but I have changed nearly every setting in the book for maximum performance and I still crash. I have even been in lag free areas (all lights on the lag meter are green) and crashed.

Sorry to hear you're getting IMs inworld like that.....I get a few of those myself, now and then, and some can be rather threatening and hateful.....a bit unnerving.

Just ignore them. Those are a reflection upon the people sending them.....not upon you. I think that people these days are nervous about how their situations are going to end up financially......usually people who find something to pick apart in you.....are basing it on their own fears. If someone called you a "threat to society" guarantee you that is fear based on their end....their own insecurities.....so don't let it make your own insecurities worse. (and we all have them)

Since I didn't get to see how you worded your original post....I'll just take a shot at it.....but it's probably best not to come right out and ask for money......as I implied, some of us get those all week long.

Well, basically, I blatantly asked for a loan. I think maybe it was two seconds after that that I got an IM saying I was a liar and could clearly see that I had credit card information with Linden Labs? That much was amusing...

Anywho...

First of all, there are a lot of people that ask for money in SL, and it is hard for others to see the people who actually are true in their intentions to see it as a loan and the ones just ripping people of their money.

The IMs you got inworld are frustrated people that, I asume, have been asked one time too many... however they venting on you, although you never approached them directly, isn't a nice thing to do, to say the least.

I personally suggest to restart this, open a new thread and explane a bit about your idea (without giving too much details so that people cannot steal the idea from you) and refraise the question.

SL is just like the real world, there are bound to be people willing to invest in a person with a good idea, but there are also people asking for investments while they have no intention other than take the money and run. Unfortunatly, although we are suppose to see everyone innocent unless proven guilty, the huge amount of 'fake' ideas makes people sceptic (just like in RL)

You will have the best chance if you also look at it from the other side, I mean, let's say I would be interested in providing such loan, I would take a huge risk investing in someone I do not know directly.

Good luck with your venture, keep believing though... if you really think your idea can be succesfull, keep faith and keep focussed on it.

First off since you quoted me then made this statement I NEVER once IMed you in Sl. If your computer cant upload how is it running SL. I would think ( not being a comp geek) that uploading has to do partly with your connection and I know when I am capped and my DL is slowed to just above dial up I cant upload but I also am not able to move about much, see much in SL or TP. I would be interested to know what the issues you have that stop you uploading as in your original post was it not because of the cost also that you could not ?

Yes...in one sense, you are being bashed. But I really wish you would READ what people are telling you, because while it may be painful to hear, you are getting some really good advice.

That advice boils down to: Stop expecting others to solve your problems for you. Stop playing computer games and get your act together. You have a daughter to raise, you don't have TIME to be playing SL or posting here. I don't care what you say, you DO have Real Life options. If you have a computer and you can type responses like the ones I've seen here, you have salable job skills.

Drop the "I'm a poor victim, I'm entitled to help" mentality. Get out there and, by God, succeed. If you stop feeling sorry for yourself and just do it, you can and you will.
