From: ZsuZsanna Raven I'm all for Happiness and Rainbows, just sometimes people want to see a straight answer that isn't sugar-coated to the max. Agree!

Frankly - with all the Lindens that either ignore you becuase they are just to busy or just dont want to be involved, I find that fact that Torely is approachable and actually works to get us answers to be a breath of fresh air.
I point out to the OP, that in a customer service environment that is oft times as gray and desolate as 1.7 on its first day, a breathe of as you put it"fucking sunshine" is a welcome light that cuts thru the fog.
Rock on Torely- never stop being the Watermelinden

"Waiter, there's dead a fly in my soup!" "I'm terribly sorry, sir. I'm concerned about this, too. How could they let that poor fly get into that soup without scuba gear? Again, I'm really sorry this happened, and I'll go speak to the chef at once about this, as well as the restaurant manager. I'll be back with an answer as soon as I can get it, if I can't get the chef and manager here themselves. Here, while you wait, enjoy this complimentary sugary watermelon!" "I don't need this fucking sugary watermelon! I need ANSWERS! How dare you try to blow smoke up my ass!"

From: Starax Statosky Do you love me? Looking for love in all the wrong places? It's true that overzealous optimism can backfire when that stance seems to mask the reality of a situation. Torley is an optimist, but also a realist. I have not seen her take a revisionist approach, but more one that is looking at a situation with optimism. Torley does have rapport with the membership, and that is a good thing. Torley is the exception because, despite her status as a Linden employee, she stands alone as the Linden who is genuinely interested in and attentive to the concerns of the membership, no matter how bitchy we get. As a cynic, I am as frequently confounded by her optimism as I am slightly envious of that point of view. It must make life more palatable to look for the sunny side.

Strange as it may seem, I'm actually kind of glad the OP posted this. Not sure how much it really has to do with his original concern, but in a way I can relate to how he feels! My respect for Torley is tremendous, but I honestly have felt a bit irked at times in the past because of her overwhelming positivity. Isn't that odd? Despite all her kindness and helpfulness, I actually felt a secret tinge of... dislike towards her. And I gradually began to realize that Torley was not to blame for any of it; the fault lay entirely on me. You see, I have spent a large portion of my life dealing with low self-confidence and a sense of inferiority. Torley's attitude triggered in me a jealousy for what I didn't have... or, rather, chose not to have: self-confidence. In recent months I have been putting more effort into fighting this inner battle. It's difficult for me, and I still have a long way to go before I get where I'd ideally like to be, but I'm definitely sensing a gradual improvement in my outlook. It really is amazing how your attitude towards yourself can determine your attitude toward others.
