Put some nice bushes and tress up agisnt your wall, maybe even a cozy bench with a little trellis surounding it, plant some pretty roses. making it a garden spot. some nice tiki torches and stepping stones.
btw I didnt dismiss your feelings, nor was my reply directed to you personally. War among your neighbors is not the solution. I used to live on the mainland where my nieghbor had a hiedious house in the sky. not even 40 meters about the land. he could at least have put it 300 meters, but thats mainland for you, hell my neighbors probably got annoyed looking at my 3 story Mall Wall. I tried to make it barable with nice textures at least. If you want a sim that doesnt have those kind of things on it then get a private island or rent from a residential island with rules. If not make the best of what you got. These tips sound lovely! I can't wait to take out the boardwalk and see how a floating bush, bench, trellis and roses look next to my floating trees and the floating astroturf.

Honestly...let people do with their land what they want to do. If you want zoned areas go see Anshe corp. I was the first to build in my area and I have a lovely spanish villa on my peninsula and my hubby built a little club to match our pool for having friends over. As people moved in we are now surrounded by a skyscraper that is never occupied (and the land it's on is edited to be as high as possible giving me a cliff next to part of my land), a huge warehouse and an annoying particle spewing fluorescent pink club that when open is going to lag the sim to no end, not to mention unfinished builds, stores, yard sales, etc. I cover up what really annoys me with a phantom wall that is transparent from the side not facing my property and keep my mouth shut because it's their land and they have the right to build hideous things if they want to.

Got any cake to go with that urban flight? chocolate or strawberry just so you know I used to live on the mainland, buying up small plots around me all the time, for the same reason you are upset about. I'm not going to sit here and argue who right or who is wrong. Point I am trying to make there other solutions. But I am glad you are enjoying your great wall and floating trees now

From: KatanaBlade Anubis I prefer to not point fingers and speak in genral by my own experiences. Not everything is as bad as people make it out to be. Still a tautological sin, however. You have been warned. From: KatanaBlade Anubis then don't move to Hawaii or Switzerland buy a sim You don't get it. Let me help you expand your point of view. Even were I to buy a sim, it would still arrive in a forced and restrictive template - with a terrestrial facsimile above my head and below my feet, and certain "physical" parameters I could not exceed. So the point is - better to rent the server and allow me to use the programming within its structural and dynamic limits to create exactly what I want. Even if it does not look remotely like Hawaii or Switzerland or anything else in the real world - even if it is freed from perceptive and referential limits like "land, sea, and sky".

From: Margaret Mfume I was thinking the same of you and your inability to recognize feigned trauma. See you are just looking for a fight. I won't give it to you, you want to make green block of grass on your land go for it, you want to build a box in the sky go for it, i really give a crap. SL is a place where people pay to do as they wish with their plot of land if they chose to buy one, no matter the size. You get a newbie who buys there first land and learns how to build on it leaving 100 prims of nothing around so be it. This post was about someone complaining about their neighbors in a rude manner instead of finding another solution or coming to an understanding. I find it pointless, that is my opinion. I have not visited your place, I am sure your new view is ugly as sin. But you cant make people change it by attacking them on the forums. If that is the way you go about handling your situation with your neighbor all the time, then he probably put the green block of grass up there to annoy you and hopes you move.

No, darling, I'm not looking for a fight. Not fighting with my neighbors and I'm certainly not about to fight with you. Your dramatic entrance into thread to lecture others amidst repeated declarations of your not caring has been and continues to be most amusing.

Honestly, do you really think I put up a wall paying homage to dogs playing poker on velvet?
Pay attention: I have never approached anyone to tell them what to build on their land. I stated in a forum that squares of astroturf floating on water look odd. Big whoop.

Your dramatic entrance into thread to lecture others amidst repeated declarations of your not caring has been and continues to be most amusing. Why because I am not following your lead? You took, to begin, with my post personal. How do you think the title and opening of this thread looked to someone new learning how to do things, they may take it personal too. Which you help continue to make even more negative before I even posted. So in my opinion you dont care, about how it reflects on other people that perhaps are new...not as skilled...not artistic.... maybe even disable that perhaps don't know how or can't make their place better so can enjoy your view. I still think there is more important concerns and issues in SL than your neighbors green block of floating grass.

Stop.
Green prim grass = silly to some people, deathly vital to others.
End of thread.

No I didn't. My response my feigned because your post was so dripping with attitude. I was surprised when you didn't get that and proceeded to give me tips on how to deal with a view I've dealt with for quite a while without doing anything about it at all. Because it is odd looking but no big deal. From: KatanaBlade Anubis I still think there is more important concerns and issues in SL than your neighbors green block of floating grass.

Lf yeah i agree.. live n let live... besides... the issue isn't so much whether you have grass or not, or whether you try to work within your environmental setting, but the skill with which you execute. a crazy cool lawn will look amazing even if it's floating on an atoll pond a warped and wacky vudu build would interesting in mountains, snow, or grass on one hand the grid is kind of ugly with all the amateur builds around... on the other hand it's a really interesting quilt of first creative steps and for that it's quite cool... options do exist for those who can't stand the patchwork sim

Well I have something that needs the water under it, but needs there to be ground flat above the water. I'm going to work on making it look nice as possible, but it would be nice to have better grass textures without seams. Anyone know where I can find some?

For some reason you're not supposed to use the exact same texture on prims that the land is using in the sim tho, maybe someone else can explain why.

I have a few prims which utilize the same land texture. Dark, Check out the formal gardens throughout the Big Easy & Biloxi sims. Let me know if a grass texture used there appeals to you.

land in the core has +-40 m terraformability. it's really useful for what you are trying to do, bertha. however it's more expensive than land elsewhere on the grid.
anyway, i'm perfectly fine with lawn builders. i think people are entitled to spend their leisure time playing sl the way they want without the interference of NIMBYs
