Wow, it really is amazing how many posts this thread got! Oh my, such a conspiracy that people start the game with the basic necessities. Honestly people, is there really a problem here? its simple. if you have no talent, you are poor, there are many people who are glad to help you out in SL.
When I started my first casino last year, I had tons of newbies coming into my casino and dropping all the money they started with. Being the nice guy I am, I helped them out by taking them under my wing and seeing what they had to offer. Some of them I sent on to be builders, and they became quite succesful in SL. Others I taught how to script, and they sell some casino games now. There are others though, who really have no artistic or programming talent. These people can make money by working for us. I had 15 newbies working for me as event holders, they sold land for me, they helped seek out other newbies that needed help, and even spied on my competitors for me when needed. Fact is, everyone can do something in SL. I gave a newbie a boat, and he spent weeks on the waterways of SL. a lot of times, we forget that SL is a game, and there is more to having fun in a game than owning a business, or selling tons of items to be rich. Maybe some people can just walk around and enjoy what the game has to offer with its richly detailed buildings, and games, baloon rides, and carnivals. There is so much to do and we overlook it because we are all to worried about making enough in game money to make RL money. Just have fun for a while, and if you do look to make money, just talk to some people. there are always great people here in SL who are wiling to help you out at a drop of a hat. That said, I really don't think there is much more to talk about on this subject. If anyone disagrees with me, please get in line and take a shot. in the mean time just enjoy the game for what everyone made it.

From: Prokofy Neva But we knew the value of a Linden. By God! LOL this could be declared Humor Day in the forums. Between the marvelous WA thread, this thread coming back from the dead, and prok cracking jokes (several of them today!), there have been some great moments.
