It's probably about time for LL to add another half dozen or so clothing meshes into the game, as part of normal evolution and enhancement.

Although they're in bug-fixing mode at the moment, it won't last forever. Other than cape, what are the other main candidates that people have been requesting?

Some separation of function would be nice. Eg. it's pretty annoying to put on a necklace and discover that I'm topless in a PG zone. Some more layers would be useful.

Hats! :p ones that arent prims. Ones that can be Dented like a REAL cowboy hat or a Rangers hat. The ones in Sl now arent that way. I treid to make one and couldnt.

Tails! Ones that arent prims and will move and sway as you walk.

Hoods! Like the battlemages on Elderscrolls games use.

The capes need to have a maximum legnth that will drag behind you on the ground. That way you can make whatever cape you wish. ;p

Ok, so Prop: 199 - Capes, Cloaks, Coats, Veils, Belts, etc. now has more than 500 votes. Any acknowledgement from LL? I've been out of the loop for a while... did I miss anything on this?

Thanks,

Well Nekokami, we do have now "flexible prims", which, although limited in some aspects, can be used to do pretty decent capes, veils, scarves, handcuffs, etc. Doing a full-body cloak is probably a challenge, though, although not impossible. Skirts with prims, for instance, look rather well, if you get your avatar to dress something beneath when sitting down :)

So, hmm, I guess I fear that LL gave us those flexible prims to avoid doing any more meshes... there were rumours of "dramatic avatar improvements", spready by the lovely Torley... but we really don't have an idea on what is meant!

If flexible prims are the only planned response to the request for additional clothing meshes, could LL please say so in the prop, so people can reallocate their votes?

Yes, ok, you can all stop laughing now. ;)

Now that I think of it, which is likely to be more server intensive, an additional mesh (or a couple) or multiple prim-based attachments? We hear about the load prim hair puts on the server all the time. A mesh as described here could be used to make really long (though not loopy-curly) hair. Or it could be done with prim attachments, e.g. a cut flexible cylinder. Same for a skirt. Which would be less server-intensive? Or would they be about the same?

Thanks,

neko
