where is every one chatting

I searched most of the fan sight forums posted in this forum and all seem not to have any one logged in to the forums on any of the sights i looked at. Have people just not bothered with forums any more.
or am i missing where every one has gone to?

I stopped looking and responding to other offsite forums. I wonder how many have done the same.

SLuniverse and Second Citizen both have been very busy since the forum closing - I am sure other forums are experiencing the same.

In all honesty, I go to other forums for tidbits and drama. But when it comes to serious issues w/ SL, that aren't covered w/ the current threads I have given up.

There is no place to go.

I always think the best of folks untill they show me otherwise, and I know I am gonna sound like one more naysayer/whiner. But LL HAS let us down by taking our one place to speak freely away. I understand why, I just would like to see an alternative.

EVERYBODY IS IN SECOND LIFE, enjoying themselves quite a lot

There are some newer sites that are up and coming. One I've recently discovered is http://sl.stratics.com Apparently stratics specializes in game guides, news and forums for MMORPGs and recently opened up and expanded a portal for Second Life.

I've seen some good changes there recently - increased news and such. It will be interesting to see how they grow and if the same drama is there that affects some of the other fansite forums.

I am pretty much always at Sl-Forums.

Over at Second Life Stratics, we have these curious little things called "moderators" and "simple rules" that will maintain the quality of discussion that Stratics is well known for throughout the MMORPG world.

We have the capacity, we have the drive, we have the integrity, we have the established reputation, we have the quality... but we'd still love more people posting there. We would prefer our quality of discussion, plus the game guides and news (several 'downtime' pieces were recently posted before Linden Lab announced them, and other articles have been posted before other sites have covered them).

Our aim is to be your 'one stop shop' covering all the best that Second Life has to offer.

SLU and SC get mentioned more than any other forums because they did not just pop up at the forum closure announcement - SLU has been around since 2003 and SC has been around since 2005. I don't often mention SC, but I do like the site - I am friends with many of the primary people who post there and also very fond of the owner - I don't have any other connection to it except as a member who posts there. Alex's lack of moderation suits that forum and allows for a letting off of steam that benefits other forums, including mine (and yours), and I am thankful for that. I am not sure what you are implying with the I scratch your back, you scratch mine comment, but it is just people expressing what sites they like and participate in.

As I told in another thread or place or.. I cant be at al forums.. or read al blogs or look at all all all.. alla ställen..

I have a second life and I have first life to take care of to...

What I find interesting is despite the fact that both have been around so long and despite what people said about both being the "natural sucessors" of the LL forum three are still a lot of folks that have in the end not gravitated to either but chose to simple stop posting in forums. Seems to me like the market is still quite open for an LL forum replacement.

I think what people really want is a forum just like this one. All it has to be is attractive yet simple and well designed with enough structure and moderation to keep the "somethign awful" stuff to a minimum.

The main problem for SLU as I see it is the sheer popularity of Second Citizen forums. SC fails as a forum on all fronts yet continues to be popular based on primarily on controversy and because it seems that's where all the forum "cool kids" have gone. Sadly, some very intelligent and otherwise nice folks are so addicted to throwing the shit around that they would rather roll in the muck at SC than really participate in a forum that has any content.

Since the only card SC has to play is the one that's covered in manure, I predict that over time, SC forums will follow it's own lead and degenerate even further into the typical "bad boy" forum full of assholes and greifers.

You are welcome to make it as stabile as possible now and in the future...

They are a clone of these forums from before the recent shutdown using vBulletin 3.6. We have some nice discussions going on, including continuations of some posts here from "Second Life Answers".

YASLF is still quietly gaining users who aren't flaming each other, aren't creating drama just for drama's sake, and are enjoying Kitten pictures. That's right, KITTEN PICTURES!

To be truthfull, the fact that you are at the SC forums (and a few others like Ordinal Malaprop) makes me wonder if I am wrong about it.

You have never said a negative word to anyone as far as I remember and are exactly the kind of forum poster that a "good" forum should encourage.

I simply cannot take the negative energy however. Every time I visit, I come across discussions that are so full of hatred, and so nasty that I end up leaving.

I have a tendency to be negative and to argue, but I do not enjoy it and I was not always that way. Life is too short to spend in the dirt, I want to be uplifted instead.

...*blush* .. .but I can use my sharp tongue to.. but its not often.. sadly it has happened.. There are some threads that I never visit - same at this forum and other I write at...

Its to easy to be mean at internet - we al need to think a minute and one more after that before we puch the publish button..
