I didn't list that as an option since I don't feel there is the remotest chance that they can trim spending much in California.

Doctors and nannies you hire because they are fit for the position. Politicians you just hope aren't too crooked; that's the way it's always been. Give the guy a chance at least, your biggest worry is that his parasite Kennedy relations will follow him out there.

Non Californians just dont get it. When outsiders look at what is spent here, yes it is a lot. You know why? We are the fifth largest economy in the WORLD. Our economy is larger than many whole COUNTRIES. Our economy has a huge impact on the nation which is why the Republicans went to such great lengths to get it.

No one talks about the 8 TRILLION Bush deficit. Californias deficit is pennies in comparison.

Just because it is the 5th largest economy doesn't mean it has to spend what it does, that is a rather lame excuse. California looses billions (correct me if i'm wrong but i believe it is that high) of dollars a year to illegal immigrants using public services. there is one place in which you can cut and maybe correct the budget. Oh but no you'd rather give them a license so that they can register to vote for your parties.

McClintock is known for being able to cut budget and be a fiscal conservative while not crippling or cutting anything vital, he was the man for the job.

Quit yacking about the Bush deficit there have been deficits since Alexander Hamilton said he thought they would be a good for America (and truthfully a lot of our great growth has been through taking loans and buying infrastructure and the means to make america great without having the money). The reason there was no deficit during clintons reign, because there was a Economic Boom (which is not effective by presidents!) which caused there to be more income, now there is an economic downturn (once agian not caused by presidents) which causes lower income.

Though you won't catch me defending the Republicans spending, it is just about as atrocious as the democrats spending. At least everyone knows the democrats will spend, the republicans claim they want government smaller but never do it, which is why I'm starting to lean towards the Constitutionalist Party.

either way it isn't even comparable to the Californian deficit, the US can float loans and deficit because noone will cut them off, they have very good credit, states can't do that. States having deficits mean they actually have no money, the US will have money even if they have a deficit, though its unadvisable.

I personally would love to see the Californian Budget, I garuntee there are some worthless things I could cut right away.

The only problem I have with that is the American and International press...this guy would have to have an insane amount of stealth in communications, or they will get a hold of that information and release it first chance they get. It's uncanny what kind of info can be turned up on someone in the spotlight.

Other than the extreme unlikelihood of the matter, I thoroughly agree with you, "America wants no foreign rulers..." as the very true punchline goes.

As for the budget...pretty much every state needs a budget overhaul to some extent, and by extension, the federal budget is in dire need of an overhaul, but the thing is, do we really want Finance wizards and their lawyers running things? He who makes the green and all that...

I say let Arnie do what he can for the moment, if he screws up he's screwed for life. The state itself will survive, as will the people living there. Including the illegals, unfortunately.

After all, there's always the Recall option....

Why don't I say this Jonathan: Stop defending him because he's republican. It is quite obvious that we're attacking him for other reasons, and personally I don't care WHAT party you belong to; if your a guy like Arnold, we need help over here.

Ummm this thread has been done for a while, so not sure what I posted, but I never supported Arnold, McClintock was the appropriate choice. I may have defended him against certain claims such as his supposed adoration of hitler and that a actor can do the job (Reagan). But I was always behind McClintock. I don't feel like going back through the thread but show me if I said anything different.
