I would be honored :D

Woo! :)

I've saved it... now I just gotta find an appropriately cool background. The PS'ing should be a simple matter of matching lighting and contrast. :)

Now, Now, Willow. Torley has enough watermelons to go around! ;-) Although, I do agree, Tor. You shouldn't feed the trolls.

To further hijack this thread, did anyone watch the show the Starlet tonight on the WB? I rather enjoyed it, there were moments that made me laugh out loud.

PS - Aimee, where's that promised pic of you in the Uncle Sam hat au naturel?

PSS - Torley, less sugar for joo.

Of course, the Xyobjects will only work if you aren't using one of the new shapes... Xy hasn't gotten around to updating it... Mebbe we should all harrass him until he does?

If you don't mind, Del, harass away! Withhold his coffee til he does it or something!

I NEED my XyObject! It's no joke creating a sim where you have to build stuff yourself!

And afaik, it doesnt even work with the old shapes? Due to changes in parameters. I know when I tried to rez something with it last it just did some weird, weird stuff!

I can't stand that a loud fetid inner elite has the largest linden audience. Their history alters their perspective into supporting the status quo...

While at the same time, some people with fresh new ideas that go against the grain of the system are treated like heretics.

Treated by heritics by who? There is no cabal. There are only three kind of people here. The vast majority who log on, do there own thing. hang out with friends, enjoy their second life. Then there is a tiny minorty who name drop... no one is impressed and no one with any sense worries about their supposed power... Then there is a really tiny minority who are so worried about what other people are doing that they rant and rave about supposed elites yada, yada.

I've been here over a year. I co-own a private sim and run a successful business. I doubt any of the Linden's know or care who I am and guess what ... the impact to my enjoyment of SL is exactly zero.

Get a Second Life.. maybe even get a First Life.... since people seem to bring their baggage here. Go have fun, don't worry about the Jones.

Although, I would not look down upon, nor be opposed to Flan eating by those who enjoy it, there being nothing wrong with flan in and of itself. For myself, I choose to lead a Flan-free life, and am happy that way.

Thank you.

If you are referring to the dessert, it is FLON. If you are referring to some other thing, then I dunno.

And isn't it weird how we see the world in different ways, yet hopefully can sit down to a tasty dish of Flan at the same table? :)

Such is life... or Second Life.

There is no status quo in SL - it is constantly evolving and changing. Some of the most successful people and establishments in SL have been in SL for less than a year or close to it. Anshe Chung, Lost Thereian, the Edge and Le Cadre instantly all come to mind as examples of that (hell, take a look at the Feb dev incentives list for more proof of this). Are there successful SL residents dating back to early beta? Definitely - I could rattle off a very long list, just as I could rattle off an equally long list of successful newer residents. Those who do have fresh new ideas and the drive to execute them succeed, be they older SL residents or 2 day old ones in SL. Those who don't post about it.

In any environment, you are going to have people who stand out, who succeed, who are vocal, and who bring about change. This is no different from real life in that regard. Second Life is not World of Warcraft or Everquest. There are not finite levels and content, loot to be won, automatic upgrades, endless money and rewards simply for clicking on some things. You make your Second Life your own. If no one is listening to your "fresh new ideas" maybe they are not as fresh or new as you think. No single person in SL is more empowered than anyone else - SL is what you make it. The people who have been successful in SL have worked their asses off to do so, and have to continuously work to stay that way, it is not automatic.

Now more than ever with the size of SL, it is a challenge to get attention, to get traffic, and to be new and innovative. That is what makes this whole feted inner core bullshit so laughable. Shiryu Mushashi is an excellent example of this. He has only been in SL a very short time - less than 6 months, yet he can design circles around most clothing designers. The same can be said of his cars, and whatever else he is planning. What excuse are you going to use to resent him for his success - the feted inner core one won't work. In the end, labels only marginalize the people doling them out.

Blaze, no matter what alt you post under, it sounds the same. If you spent this much effort actually trying to bring about real, positive change, it would be impressive Instead, it's just a sad excercise in futility.

Yes it is weird that flan is FLON and clan is CLAH-N. I am sure many people do prounce flan like it rhymes with clan as well - especially those unfamiliar with its origins and just know it is a tasty dessert ;)

I can think of very specific examples of where the FIC effect comes into place...

Now, if your cause has the SUPPORT of a few of the FIC, the lindens are more likely to give an audience.

But it's hard to blame the lindens for implied favoritism, because hey... the older players are just more likely to have linden friends by now.

and Cristiano, OF COURSE you would deny what I am saying... you have the skewed perspective that I was talking about... Look at your born date, my friend...

I am sure you lose few disputes...

Hey! I couldn't pass up the photo op of Cani trying to looked shocked... she was mores shocked by the swivelling pelvis, and in her words ' the biggest vagina in the world' attached to it...

and FYI.. FIC is N.E.S.T!
