From: Ingrid Ingersoll Honestly, who cares if LL DID pay creators for stuff for the teen grid. Big deal. If I was peddling my metaverse to teenagers I'd want to have good content in it too. So whats the problem? It's a business. How would this be construed as favoratism? It's all jealousy and need of psychiatric care I tell ya !

From: Aimee Weber Let me just make a quick note before this old, old tune gets played once again. The Lindens have a very good privacy rule where they will not reveal or post the details of any abuse report. This policy protects the attacker from unfair retaliation from the general public and is a arguably an undeserved gift to what appear to be RATHER ungrateful individuals.
So when someone says: "The Lindens totally suck, they play favorties and their justice is totally arbitrary cause I got suspended for a week just because I called someone a poopie head but they only gave this other dude a warning for going to Linden Labs and punching Philip in the spleen."
The Lindens just suck it up, bite their lip, and rise above the temptation to reveal: "The subject called the complainant a <explitive removed> <racial slur removed> who should go <vulgar sexual act> their <beloved family memeber> up the <body part> until they <violent act> and <sexual act only found in underground german videos> or I am going to <real life threat of violence> and <forced sexual act>. The subject then orbited the complainant, the investigating Linden, and a neighbor's cat in RL before spamming the PG sim with naked photos of <TV's Urkel>"
Yes, the Lindens are human. Yes, listening to people rant on about Linden injustice while downplaying their own crimes is a bummer to them. But when you read the ubiquitous "Lindens are unfair" posts, remember to take them with a grain of salt and thank a Linden for suffering through this crap when it's their own noble restraint that allows it to happen.
Ok carry on. I was gonna say something to this effect. But I'm tired, so thanks Aimee. Basically -- The lindens can ban you from SL for any reason. One of them could just walk up to you and ban you for looking funny if they wanted to. Says so in the TOS etc. Now I know why I hate doing customer service. Thank the Lindens for being nice people and having good, patient customer service. Cause if I was their CS rep... well, I'd be fired.

You must post accusations using suggestive hints, and do it as an ALT. Here is how: From: Alty McAlterton Aimee, I really admire the courage you have just being who you are, hump and all.
On a completely unrelated note, Did you know people with humps on their backs are 80% more likely to be cabbage thieves?

I don't know who Ava's main account is but the *hinting* at Aimee getting a contract was noted. How is this a bad thing in the first place if she did? I would imagine if the Lindens contract someone they're asking for content to be created and geared specifically to what they want. Maybe they felt Aimee's style was appropriate for the teen grid and wanted her to make something just for them. Maybe they feel that it's only right to pay someone for taking time to work on and make something new just for them. Isn't that what we do when we pay someone for a custom work? I guess I just don't see someone getting contracted for some custom work as favortism. If they had asked you, would you feel you were getting favortism?

From: Chip Midnight Ummm, Ava? Did you miss the response you got to your post in the Linden Hotline forum?... I think the reply she got basically means... they posted for people to donate to the teen grid and they didnt get enough people willing to give full right objects for free so they had no other choice but to pay people.

From: Lecktor Hannibal Not only that but we wouldn't want Torley upset with you!! DESPITE ALL MY RAGE I AM STILL JUST A CATBOT IN A CAGE. But on topic, there are a few things I point towards in a scatterplot freefall. One of them is the use of "admins" to describe Lindens -- that word choice is important because it sounds less cuddly and more cold and distant. Not unlike malignant alien overlords. I keed. Another would be usage of an alt to pointedly and repeatedly bring up certain issues, which are certainly valid questions. One may be concerned about their personal reputation. But without more of a context to fill the rest of us in on experience, motives, background, it prevents a freeflowing, bidirectional exchange of discussion. "Favoritism" need not have a hostile ring to it. Like "bias", as a word, it may be masked in negative connotation but can similarly be held up high for the double-edged sword it is. I would rather see someone have favorites than no standouts in a hypothetical "sea of gray". The Lindens have an obligation, partially legal, partially personal respect, to maintain discreetness of certain information. Such things -- such as specific details of the teen gridverse -- may become public knowledge in the future, but in the meantime, perhaps it's like a baby: needs to be kept close and shielded from the elements while it matures. Just some simple things to think about. Take care folks.
