Anyone not get into AV sex?

Well the online world has become alot about sex, wether porn or "cyber" and meeting people too.

Everyone has there own version of what stimulates them.

Online people "cyber" for a several reasons. Online you can have a fantasy which is safe and also you can be anyone look like anything or anyone including the opposite sex, and usually they are lonely or missing something from thier REAL LIVES. Alot of singles and unhappy married people fall into this cause of that little something they can't do or get that would be consider "Cheating"in the real world.

That what happens when you live online or frequent it alot.
"DISTORTION OF REALITY" and most online activity stems from it.

To me, SL has never ever been a way of hooking up, or about having a virtual Second Love Life. Some people use it like that, and all the more power to them. It really doesn't bother me in the slightest. I know other people have even found RL partners through SL. Good for them. As has been brought up in other threads, the game is what you make of it. If you want to have av sex, go right ahead! Maybe you'll discover some other neato script while you're creating.

What I would be afraid of is if all the sims had the same designation like some people call for.

I live and work in PG sims for a reason, because I'm not interested in the sexual part of SL. It would be nice if the rules were relaxed a little so that PG wasn't so strict, but I'm glad we have the designation. Just like RL, a bar is 18+, but it doesn't mean you walk in there and there are naked people and sex toys for sale. I'd love it if we instead had a few PG, tons of Mature (Mild sexual content, cursing allowed, adult topics, like an R rated movie) and then XXX with hardcore nudity, sex toys and anything graphic.

I have heard the argument a lot that we are 18+ and therefore we should all be fine with seeing sex everywhere. But as this thread has shown, there are a good number of people who aren't interested in the sex side of things. It doesn't equal prudishness, just a different way of looking at the world. Sorry to go off on a tangeant like this and I'm not meaning to hijack the thread to go back to the old issue of sim designations. I think it's related though.

Maybe it's just me, but years of working with Poser has desensitized me to the concept of digital nudity. I look at it as a collection of data, not as a sexual person. Oh, and something to wear my clothes

I've been in SL for almost a year now. At various times, I'll admit, I was curious as to where and how all this sexual hubbub goes on, and how one might partake in some fun.

I've never found any sexual cesspools, at it were, thousands of avs voraciously humping one another in pixellized, perverted bliss.

However, it might be said that the SL sex industry is the driving force in our economy. Look everywhere in a Mature sim, and you see a) porn, b) sex toys, c) sex furniture, or d) sex events.

Specifically, everyone should look up. At last count, I spotted no less than 3 dozen "bedrooms" and "sex rooms" in SL, situated above the cloud layer.

But, none of my friends partake in any of this, at least, none that I can see.

It's a big deal, but only if you make it a big deal.

If you want to avoid sex in SL entirely, hang around me for a bit... I usually dig my nose into building, so I don't get racy very much

I'd agree with that, whole-heartedly. I'd probably not spend much time in any XXX spots. I just don't like having to be careful what I say, and I don't want to have to worry about what can be seen from outside my house.

But as far as the av sex thing goes, it's just... odd, in my opinion. I mean, I don't attend orgies with complete strangers in real life (or events where you vote on which couple has the best sex.)

I find av sex kinda pointless because if you're not doing it with someone special then its... well... pointles and kinda boring.

If you're doing it with someone that IS special, then it's mostly frustrating. Especially if you live hundreds or thousands of miles apart.

The exception, of course, being those who are special to each other and are in close proximity IRL. In that case, it's foreplay, but should still be private (i.e. not at an event where you sell tickets, for pete's sake!)

Just because she enjoys building and has created sexually related content doesn't disprove her statement. Unfortunately like many she is defined most by what has gathered the attention of others to her....

Zoey, take a deep breath and exhale and when you do, think positively and those that have the same views as you will come to you. You cant seek them out you cant dig them out of their burrows. Time and patience are the only key here in the goal you seek.

Imagination is a great thing. I never got the AV sex thing either. It never appealed to me. To me is ia a hyped up version of text based cybersex Two animated avatars locked together with one going back and forth, back and forth .. no emotion .. no sweat. Just an occasional typing animation. It's a lot of role playing. Some people get off on role playing.

I don't get it .. but that is just me. I'm not looking for an arguement on the sexual appeal of virtual world sex. I've had quite a few RL sexual encounters and once I tried SL sex for like a minute and then blurted out "Do you want to just go to the show and tell?" lol .. I just didn't get it. For me it was the most lame thing ever and I'm extremely open minded. It felt like building a fake cardboard car in your garage and acting like you were driving in a race. The thought was there but the experience of actually racing down a track was not no matter how much imagination I used.

I just prefer the real thing and SL sex to me is a very poor substitute.

Rather than post about what you DON'T like, why dont you talk about what DO like! That way you may find people that you have more in common with than your dislikes.

If you like building, don't start threads about sex. Most serious builders will skip those threads anyway. Better yet, forget the forums and start an event about building - building contest, tour of the best builds, celebrated builders as guest speakers, etc.

You have the tools to create the environment you want, use them.

I really dont understand sex in SL, whats the point? you must have a broadband connection, why not go to any of 1000000000000 pron sites and use those, i mean, SL's avatars arent very life like and teh animations are no good... and of you want to cyber or yiff, go to Furcadia, i just really dont get it, i find it repulsive

I think the thread is sharing a common view of whats become these days of SL. If you dont have a strip club, host sex/slave/nakie parties you dont get any dwell or anyone to show up. One look at the events these days shows the desperation of a lot of people who lack the inability to create something good for an event. Guess creativity took a backseat a while back.

Sex is great and good but the word overkill comes to mind about it.

In order to bring the masses to my door step. I shall host an event! Hmmm what to call it. Oh I know: the "Lets rate farm while hosting a naked sex orgy slave hot tub stripper contest"

Are there really sex orgy events? Hmm..I better start paying more attention to the Events Calendar. The adult events I've attended have been very tame and usually not full of nudity, and never, that I've witnessed, involve cyber or AV sex. Even ones that advertise naked parties or erotica are for the most part, from my experience, very R rated rather than XXX. Again, they are social events with some sexual innuendo or sexual oriented disscusion going on. Never have I seen AV sex or even cyber sex at an event. Perhaps folks are judging them without actually being present or experiencing them?

For the most part they are humorous and social. Although there might be *gasp* nude AVs present from time to time, though not normally.

I've seen far more PG events than mature events on the calendar.

As far as mature sims go, I travel them and sight-see often, and it's also rare for me to stumble across blatant sexual material unless I enter shops or clubs that advertise such. Mostly it's just builds that resemble and serve a purpose similar and indistinguishable from PG sims.
