Me too. It was pretty packed. My party of 4 had to break into 2 & 2.

What I truly appreciated was Jar Jar was seen and not heard!

*sigh*

Okay, I liked the movie. I make the mistake this morning of going into the "Ep 3 SUCKS!" thread and reading it first. Now I feel like a total geek tool of the massive Lucasfilm marketing machine.

There is such a generation gap in fandom. There are us old geeks who were around to see the orginal tirlogy in the theater. For us, Star Wars is a part of our memories. This means (at least for me) that I can pull enjoyment out of the prequels regardless of their flaws.

Then there are the new generation of geeks. These are the ones who weren't even born when Return of the Jedi came out in theatres. They look at movies like Phantom Menace, and see only its flaws (which, i'll admit, are glaring).

Now, I will be the first to admit that these newest entries in the SW canon have a lot of flaws and moments that can make you wince. I'm of the opinion that Lucas doesn't really like Star Wars, and is just going thru the motions cause that's how he makes his money. However, it saddens me how people will dismiss those of us who find enjoyment in the movies as fodder for Triumph the Insult Dog.

It *is* possible to be intelligent and enjoy the Revenge of the Sith. I wish the vocal detractors of the series would realize this.

keeping in mind that I am a HUGE fan :)

Empire was still the best, but this one I think comes in second or third behind the original.

I never considered myself a star wars geek until that night/morning seeing all those girls outside the theatre in their Leia hair. It got me so HAWT!

As the leader of the Jedi Council, his is the only purple lightsaber. ... I'm not sure if this is unique, but it is also switch-activated where more we've seen in the movies are button activated.

Do I win a prize? :D

-Ghoti

LOL no not really - The purple lightsaber was,in fact, his payment for being in Star Wars. When George Lucas got in touch about playing the role he agreed to do it for nothing as long as he had a purple lightsaber :p

OMG I'm a geek too!
