I don't think I referred to anyone in particular, so it's not really personal.

I am also not referring to any particular individual, but rather a group of individuals, so again - it's an attack, I suppose, but not a personal one.

But really, come on and WAKE UP folks. Is this really the impression you want to be sending out to the world?

blaze, are you a linden?

No, just someone who'd like to see people amazed and impressed by SL so that it will succeed and not just implode upon itself in a fury of innanities.

SL is becoming that part of town where the tourists goes and there are drunks and bums and graffiti everywhere and quickly walks out again.

This is like when you're a tourist and you walk into that part of town with the drunks and bums and the graffiti everywhere and quickly walk out again.

That sounds like a personal attack to me. You have no clue what we have brought to Second Life....no clue whatsoever...if you want to continue to judge us by our lil play here then you will be continually judged for being a tweaker.

Funny how SL didn't implode the whole time you weren't a member but now since you've graced us it is in iminent danger of doing so.

I have only one more thing to say .......

Again, the invalid assumption I am referring to myself.

No, but most tourists don't want to come back and certainly don't have favorable things to say.

Talen, if I was referring to some person, it would be personal.

I'm not. I'm referring to a group activity.

And I do have some clue as to what you bring. Which makes me wonder why you feel the need to counteract and destroy all of that with this craziness?

Comprehention boy....if you make a negative assumption about a group of people then compare them to drunks and bums then you have made a personal attack.....quite easy when you connect the dots.

For example, lets say I write for the NYT.

I want to do a piece on SL.

I go to a forum (say, the Press Forum) and open up the top thread.

All I get are posting after posting of .. I have no idea how to define it without sounding insulting .. graffiti. Not the cool kind that you want to stop and check out, but the kind that looks like it was scrawled by a very angry, very mentally challenged 12 year old.

He may click around or he may simply look at his busy schedule and say "no story here".

All this is going to result in is Linden's going to greater and greater (at least the clueful ones) insisting on hiding the forums from plain sight.

Basically making it hard, if not impossible, for the community to communicate in a world wide democratic forum.

All because we wanted to have 'our little fun'? Well, it's this kind of vandalism which destroys the big fun that we could possibly be having.

Lets say the same reporter opens up this thread and see's you playing forum nazi and thinks the same thing.

Please tell me about the tourists and what they have said...I am very curious to know.

Guys....calm down.
All of your personal attacks are going to get this thread closed. :p
Blaze, I understand your concern. Posting another thread about it does not help your cause I am afraid. As a participant in the hillarity, I am just using this as an opportunity to release some steam and to say,

Again. I am not being personal.

I am referring to a group activity.

If this was a person, I wouldn't have said anything to anyone as it wouldn't be a problem.

Individuals are rarely a problem in this world, its usually only when they get into groups they start to act poorly.

Oh, good gracious.

I'm not mad, I am merely worried about the impression you people are sending out to the world. I am worried about what might happen to SL and its reputation amongst the metaverse community.

you should be more concerned about the impression the sentiment that started this thread gave out - people upset because other people want to give away land. that wasn't me
