Should LL zero out everyone's ratings to level the playing field?
I haven't seen a poll on this yet...
Talk about it on this thread over yonder.
Just interested in seeing the numbers.

If you add "Zero ratings, L$ accounts, inventories, and land" as one of the options... I won't choose that either.
Why remove the rating system, then just put it back at a higher price??? Keep it or get rid of it. That is all. _____________________

It would be nice if they reset everybody to zero but they probably can't as the effect it will have on bonuses would mean their new fiscal policies would drain a heck of a lot more from the economy as stipend bonus' wouldn't be halfed, they'd be removed. That probably means that it's not feasible to do.

As I posted on other thread: It would be unfair to keep our thousands of cheap ratings while new residents would have to convince people pay 25 L$ per rating.
Maybe most fair would be to have Linden Lab buy off all ratings from us for e.g. 5 L$ per rating _____________________

And as I pointed out, if you follow that logic, you must then fully support the idea of a complete world wipe, since it was far easier to get money in Beta, then it is today, therefore, we should wipe it all and everyone get a fresh start.

I voted yes from a "small landowner" standpoint, but at the same time I also ponder... it's a double hmm-thing.. as some people I know manage their land solely from their stip, and being plummeted back down to their base stip again suddenly will mean they can't afford to keep their current tiers.

Make the ratings finally pay off. Pay out 5L per rating given, and subtract 5L per neg given.
I hate when people do not rate back. maybe even pay 20L.... or something... but 25L per rating is just insane |

But because it's pointless to just say what we think, let's start compiling a list of avenues, no matter how unfair because we want a full list, and then decide which is more logical. I'll start. Choices include: a) Money gain from ratings, don't knock everyone down to zero, ratings at L$1. -- Current system -- Not working. b) No money gain from ratings, don't knock everyone down to zero, ratings at L$1. -- Is a little unfair to people with lots of ratings, but solves some problems. c) Money gain from ratings, don't knock everyone down to zero, ratings at L$25. -- Puts new players at a disadvantage. d) No money gain from ratings, don't knock everyone down to zero, ratings at L$25. -- Pointless. e) Money gain from ratings, knock everyone down to zero, ratings at L$25. Screws over the people who have been in the game for a long time but is good for newbies who have nothing to lose. f) No money gain from ratings, knock everyone down to zero, ratings at L$25. -- Also pointless. g) Money gain from ratings, knock everyone down to zero, ratings at L$1. -- Same as now, only a clean slate. Won't accomplish anything. h) No money gain from ratings, knock everyone down to zero, ratings at L$1. -- Pointless? i) No ratings system. These are only options based on the current system, not taking into account other rating methods. Please continue the list with other ideas and/or comment on these choices. |

rofl i love how they upped rating charges by 25x to basically sink money out of newbs while leaving other people who abused the system in the past with massively over-rated payouts. I voted YES. =P
