Should Ratings Be Zeroed?

Yea, I agree, that's pretty bad. I understand they want to increase the value of the Linden currency, but raising the price of giving a rating just means less people give ratings. They should have only lowered the payoff for high ratings and left the price alone or raised it to 2 or 5. 25 L$ to give someone a rating is ridiculous unless the payoff to that player for that extra +1 is really high.

Previously, I wandered around, and gave positive ratings for buildings or scripts I found interesting. 25$ is too rich for my blood so I won't give ratings anymore.

If they're worried about really high ratings giving huge stipends to long time players, then put the rating stipends on a logorithmic? scale. I.e., one gets x amount for having y positive ratings and 2x for having 4y positive ratings and so on. So the stipends level off over time.

Unfortunately what they have really done is killed ratings instead of increased the value of the linden. Now no one will give ratings unless those people are like godly rich and dont care becuase now two things have happened. Your bonus from ratings are cut in half and ratings are 25 times more expensive.

I think the only ratings we will see from now on are negetive ones. Just IMHO

Also if they Really were serious about increasing the value of their linden then they have only one solution don't they? Stop giving people money. Think this will happen? not a chance in hell.

Why is the blueballs are people making such a big issue out of this!? Who cares about numbers for or otherwize. I tell you tell you about one group leaded post all night just rated the balls off just to get people to join here tacky and tasteless group. Now Let me tell you this, its these problem people that caused the problem in the rating game not real rating people like me and may others. We need those rating if you are a club work like me. If you just a role play maybe not but a worker must have them to go thur sl.

Under the current system wear ratings are comunilitive I would say yes. Infact I'd go as far to say they should be cleared out on a regular basis.

Perosnally I would like to see ratings like traffic. Have a day to day or week to week rating. Witch would be used for payout. If sl wanted to keep the totatle numbe of rating, but not use that for payouts that be fine too. That way it dosen't clear people rating history, but make the system far for all. Not just just starting today, but for every day for every one.

I never knew the ratings thing enhanced your bonus stipend or whatever its called. I just assumed the total stipend fluxuated due to dwell only. See what I get for not reading everything. I had always thought the ratings system was a cheap ineffective money sink and just to give people something to do that served no real reason. Except maybe to determine who might or might not be bad news. But then again you cant always judge a persons by their rating numbers (unless its very highly negative, even then, maybe).

I think I've given out over 3100 ratings (all positive). I dont mind if they reset them to zero and would be cool to get a refund. But either way I'll be happy.

in light of the changes that linden has made i think it is only fair to zero everybody & level the playing field............but then again it doesn't really bloody matter one way or the other does it?!?!?!

oh well....so much for that......i do think that we should get all our rating money back if they zero everybody out

Goddammit are you telling me that I spent hours in some lame-ass dance club listening to some retarded DJ-wannabe's idea of good music and rating a bunch of dance-anim spamming asshats for nothing? Damn you Linden Lab! Damn you to hell! It is not welfare! It is hard work pretending to like some of the people in this game!!!

:D (Would've voted yes but the poll's closed.) :D

Adjust the ratings

Divide everybody's old ratings by 25, Linden Labs to do the arithmetic immediately.
