This absolutely has everything to do with the community. You've come here, lied, all with the purpose of condemning this community.

As a side item, you are now requesting an 18+ label on the homepage.

You've conveniently ignored all of my posts. Please go back and read the one about how what you are wanting would Cause the phantom problem you are fighting.

Warning people that the game is 18+ would discourage any conservative person from joining, and make this 'the place to be' for anyone wanting sexual content.

You absolutely did not talk to Phillip Rosedale prior to 8 am this morning. What kind of idiots do you take us for? Well, we know what kind of idiots and pervs you think we are and very obviously, we're sick of hearing it.

When you put an 18+ warning on the homepage and lockdown the forums, you are going to simultaneously take away the best advertising for SL (slowing growth, which affects SL, which affects me) and encourage people who now see this as an 'adult' place to join.

I really won't mind when 90% of people in SL are here for sex, will you?

I have however, with increasingly fed up tones, pointed out the flaws in your request. Who else here supported you Regnar? You absolutely have the right to make the suggestion that you made, you just have no right to do it in the manner that it was presented. You have the most condescending tone imaginable. No you choose to avoid it Regnar. This thread was about how your friend's darling little 8 year old was scarred for life by seeing the words attention whore. I am asking you how far you will take this lame crusade of yours. It is very relevant, as the entire reason for your claim to want a disclaimer is because of the 'adult content'. The bible also contains 'adult content' (violence, sex, language) - so I am using the logic you have applied to this situation to ask you how far you would take it.

I don't feel like crawling threw my attic to find it, but my old First Edition Dungeons and Dragons Dungeonmasters Guide had this nifty table in the back for generating random streetwalkers... I'm not going to bother crawling through, what is it, 11? pages now to find individual quotes, but they have been repeated often enough... Things like "Don't you feel good about yourselves?" and nonsenese like that, *is* being rude, even if you don't see it.

And wrong, it *will* change my gameplay experience, in ways that people have already pointed out.

Regnar--you WERE rude and you WERE outlandish and you DID call people in Second Life UGLY for their posts which IS harassment and IS the same slander you are against. Furthermore you totally disregarded the fact that people might not have the same twisted morality as you and that we should be "ashamed" for our own values!

Regardless of your attempt at "improving the community standards," YOU DO NOT HAVE A COMMUNITY TO RETURN TO. Don't you see? You've outcasted yourself and frankly, it's been like this from day one with you and frankly, if you choose to fight 1000 people in the forums and still believe yourself to be RIGHT then your self-righteousness is entirely at fault. What is clearly wrong here is the undue influence you are having over a game you don't even like. This is not the first time you have had the unbelievable gall to call Philip directly on the phone and attempt in this manner to override with your loudness what many, many others are saying.

The problem is, rather than follow the conventions and make your case on the forums or at a town hall, you are circumventing the process, making yourself seem more important than you really are.

This is UNDUE influence over the quality of experience for the rest of us. It would be bad for the future growth and success of SL for it to be labeled as an "adult" entertainment venue. Clearly we have all been remiss, since the vast majority of SL players have not called Philip in person to whine and cajole him over every little thing. But that is because we have the decency to give the man some privacy and let him get on with making SL better.

I'm sure you must manage to sound like a reasonable person on the phone or Philip would have long ago stopped communicating with a maniac like you.

So, I must once again say to Philip: PLEASE ignore this person from now on!

Regnar, I don't think your friend would have noticed an adult content warning had it been there, unless it's the only thing that was there.

For those wondering what I think is so darned funny (can't be cursing in this thread now, can we?) go to the main secondlife.com page, and click on the "More Info" button near the bottom.

It brings up another window, with an in-game snapshot that's partially masked in blue, with some white text over it.

In this snapshot are 7 avs:
- 1 is male
- 1 female is wearing a sring bikini that's more string than bikini
- 1 female is wearing a tube top and a see-through skirt
- 1 female is wearing leather chaps and leather thong bikini bottom
- the other three females are wearing slightly more conservitive summer clothing.

If this is not an indication that SL contains mature content, then your friend is either completely blind, completely stupid, or didn't bother to look before exposing his daughter to the site.

Regardless of which of the three reasons it is, it's still his fault, and not LL's, or ours.
