If you walked into a Borders bookstore, and before you came in, there was a blinking red siren, and red tape everywhere, and a loudpseaker, shouting, very loudly, that Borders contains adult content and should not be entered by anyone under the age of 18, would you want to go in there?

Even if there was just a sign on the door. Most people in our prudish, puritannical society would avert their gaze and go to the "family friendly" bookstore across the street.

If SL were to put "this game is for 18+ only" on the front page, tons of people would get the impression that it's a 24 hour virtual orgy.

Did the "parental advisory" stickers on cds stop 80% of teens from listening to the music anyway? Did "Rated R" movies stop being seen by kids as soon as the rating was invented?

I have children myself and I select carefully what media (TV, websites,...) they can access. I check media sources beforehand and only allow them to browse what I put in the bookmark list. I also once in a while "surprise" them to make sure they don't switch to things I don't consider appropriate for them.

Ok where am I going with this, Simple I posted in sarcasim previously about the fact that the father took offense to the WWII posting as it was one of his Die hard games that he plays.

In retrospect to that he was prolly surfing the web with his daughter knowing full and well that the WWII game was the partial demise of his marriage thus when his daugher of undetermined age seen "Lame A.. WWIIoler's" it confirmed her initial thoughts on what MOMMY had said about daddy thus infuriating him to the point of Slam dunking Regnar.

Remember this is an educated guess or speculation based on facts provided thus far even eliminating the previous set up threads that were given. I simply took A+B+C+D and came up with E.

Second life is not a "Porn" haven there are many many builds places and people that do not participate n those arena's. I mean there are Churches, Weddings, Pastors building Churches this place is riddled with a multitude of individuals that know people have to be diverse and different which makes each and every one of us Unique.

But the biggest thing I do not see people doing is summarly dumping thier Real Life problems on the world at large and blaming the world for their mistakes and muck ups.

This whole issue is absurd and I admit I added to the inflamtory commentary but never used a personal insult.

But in Closing this statement I will comment this one last time. Regnar, if drama is what you seek then you have had your fill for quite a while.

I strongly dissagree with your request to have this forum or any forum locked up as that would be a vilation of my civil rights of free speach.

If you continue to pursue this I know several people that would back anyone that decided to bring a class action lawsuit against you for trying to infringe on our rights.

I have not threatend you here neither vieled or direct so dont presume that I have and start chanting that I am against you and need to be banned because I am the devil incarnate.

Actually, while I disagree in every possible with with Regnar, I have to take exception to this too.

You have no "rights" on the internet regarding free speach, not when your posting on privatly owned forums. Never have, and I pray to god, never will. Just like I can kick you out of my home for saying the word "Eyedrop" if the notion so strikes my mind, or just for no reason at all, so to can the owners of a privatly owned forum make whatever restrictions they like.

What the heck (edited for children) was the parent doing delving into the page and looking at signature lines once he saw the offensive title posts.

I absolutely believe now that you don't have a friend, and that this non existent friend doesn't have a child. That makes this a direct attack on SL and its citizens, and believe me when I say, I take personal offense at that.

It's doubly offensive, and ignorant on your part, to assume that the adults here couldn't discuss this issue rationally without your little contrived scenario.

The starter of this thread clearly does not speak for the community here. He has posted repeatedly of his hatred and disgust for this community. He has insinuated threats both of me and of many others who play here on a regular basis. In fact I believe he is the only person in a year here who has deliberately gone around inworld badmouthing me.

My concern here is that he is exerting undue influence on you, by calling you personally this time and the many times he has done so before. This, I fear, could have unfortunate consequences for the rest of your community here as he does NOT have our interests at heart.

I strongly recommend that you pay no further attention to this person, and that you discontinue any special favors you are paying to him by taking his phone calls. Concentrate on making Second Life a better and more prosperous place for everyone and ignore the yapping dogs.

I think every single person who replied to you stands behind what they said to you - I certainly do. The only person I find myself wondering "what was this person thinking?" is you Regnar. This entire thread is so clearly a fabrication (actually I will go even harsher and flat out say you are lying) and a strange attempt at getting some attention. You claim to be the maligned little lamb here with the poor friend whose daughter is traumatized for life by READING SOME WORDS, when all you have ever shown yourself to be is a drama monger of the highest order. Reread your original "open letter" and you will realize it is not the succicint series of simple requests you backtracked and made later. You came out bashing Phillip, Linden Labs, and all of us and blaming us for your friend's poor judgement.

This community will vehemently stand against you - notice not a single person supported you in this thread (although you did bizarrely take an insult about your maturity level as a compliment). There are very few people I have encountered in SL who I think definitely do not belong here, but you are one of them. If you hate SL so much and what it has become and represents, please do not let the proverbial door hit you on the way out. We are not going to change to suit you, as again you have no support from anyone. You certainly always have the right to speak your mind, even in the form of a bizarre open letter, but be prepared for the consequences.

if the forums would be set to passworded...I think this one here is a vbulletin one if I am not completely mistaken...then it has a cookie option which most will utilize...since a constant logging in would be more of an aggravation then a help....would that keep a kid from reading it...also ...what age is this 'kid'? I mean....it obviously can read well enough to browse a forum and seems interested in it...so it can't be that young...then the question arising would be...ho sheltered does this poor soul grow up?

Second Life does not need a disclaimer, and it does not need your continual tirades against the SL community. Linden Labs does an excellent job of maintaining the forums - your "friend " just made a lapse in poor parental judgement.
