I know the forum threads have been whizzing by saying "I'm in now - WooHoo!"... but just so its known, there's still some of us that have been trying the above advice, over and over, ad nauseum, and no luck.

So, to keep myself occupied while I've been trying to get in, here's what I've been doing:

I threw SL into window mode, and took a screen shot of the opening login page.
Then, I took another screen shot of the screen I've been looking at for the last hour, which is now burned into my corneas.

When I do get back online (I still have my positive attitude - Yay!) I'm making a neat little object.... I'm going to call it "Try Second Life Today! - Just Click on Connect!". It'll look like a little TV screen or computer - when a user clicks the object, I'll have it change textures to the 2nd screenshot that I've been looking at for the last hour.

Hopefully, I'll be having a "Yay, SL is back online!" party when I get back online. If so, I'll be sure my new little toy is out for enjoyment

(I'm trying to have a sense of humor about all this frustration!)

Better put, for all of it..get the f**k over it, already.

I don't know what's more funny, the complaints or the people fighting on the forums about people complaining.. not too sure, but hell, it's given me something to read while I try to get into SL.

Anyway, got it.. port went bad, and I ended up in the middle of the sky, bald and my clothes mostly missing, and then I vanished. Now that was funny.

Someone hates me. I got in... was in for about 7 minutes... then my power went out. Came back on...now I can't get in again.

This is absolutely ridiculous! Last night I couldn't play SL because their hard drive broke and today... today I get home from work and I'm sitting here for three and a half hours trying to get onto this damn game. I'm sure you all know that this game is a major addiction and not playing it for almost two days is a really long time. It's not even like this is free! I pay 10 dollars a month to day and a 10 dollar activation fee. I could be in the game right now making money, making objects, and making land. I really hope we get some sort of reward or gift for this because this is just plan ridiculous!!!!!

Sl is up? Well , it was for me , then it booted me out....Wassup with that? Cmonnnnn at least let me get my fix on Sl for the day....or i'll be up all night....and no one like a cranky person at 6 in the morning....=)

You guys should take it easy already. I can definitely tell which of you have never worked a tech job in your life.

Things happen. I can assure you the Linden admins are all over this thing, working on it as fast as they can. They don't need to know how much you really, really need this thing back up and running. They need it up and running much more than you, because their JOBS depend on it. You don't have to put more pressure on them to get it fixed, they have enough pressure. And your whining about it isn't going to get it done any faster -- though it might help you feel better.

I work in the tech field, and I hate it when we get complaints accusing us of not caring about the customers because it's "not fixed yet" -- as if there is this assumtion that we're sitting around laughing about how we just took down service, and look at all those poor users who can't get into their very important services. As if we have something to gain by our service not being the very best it can be.

I know we're all paying $10 a month, but things happen, and you have to be patient. After all, this isn't the opening of Anarchy Online, which I was present for. Try having the game be completely unplayable for *6 weeks*. That was worth complaining over, and we did, and we got that time credited. But I can assure you even then, the programmers and admins were working insane shifts under hard duress to get it working.

So give Linden a break already. They're more motivated to get back in the game than you are -- their company, jobs, and life's work is on the line.

Thanks for letting me rant at you all -- I can't do it to my customers, and Linden can't do it to you, so I'll take the pleasure of doing in proxy for them.

Luna I understand what you are saying but I have played other online games and when there is downtime like this, they are sure as all hell keeping us updated and making up for it.

I know it's unexpected and it's not their fault but they need to be ready for things like this. I'll be very disappointed if they don't do anything to make up this time because I will then know what type of game they are running.
