sit at desk constantly refreshing the forum to see if they posted (lindens)that the servers are back online .

and keep trying to get the client to connect

boy this has been a long downtime , might have to actually dust the Tv off and see if there is anything interesting on while i wait ...and wait

What do I do when SL is down...

Typically I crawl into the corner and begin to sweat and shake violently. This is accompanied by profound confusion, disorientation, hallucinations, hyperactivity, and extreme cardiovascular disturbances. Then I take a break to watch The Simpsons, then on to the convulsions and/or seizures.

was it 4PM or 5PM?
SL is already 50 minutes late.. and everyone's quietly waiting..
you know, time runs by faster when you'r counting down to a deadline.. but counting past a deadline is kinda annoying X-|

as of 2 minutes back, clients can now connect to SL servers, but fail the SSL authentication..
which means, SL will be back very shortly, right after the SSL certificates are replaced on the server side.

i'm still counting

What do I do when SL is down?

Depends on when and where I am.

If I'm at home I'll lean back in my chair, close my eyes, and know the IT team is working hard on whatever they need to do to get the world back up for us.

just when i thought things are going smoothly.. everything seems to have gone south!
the system status page now simply states that SL is closed.. with no estimated downtime, except for a note asking users to keep an eye on the announcments forum for updates

Blech, I have to whine. I work at home, and the best time for me to play in SL is the mornings while my nervous system absorbs the caffeine. That would be roughly between 8 and 10 AM EST, which means smack dab in the middle of the Linden's preferred down time. I guess a lot of people are only effected by down times when they're long, but I bump into just about every one of them. I really hope there's a relative period of peace between 1.1.8 and 2.0. Or that the Lindens decide to start making engineers stay late to do updates instead of showing up early!

OK, it's out of my system, feel free to ignore this
