What do you do when SL is down?

not that i'd mind it, but i prefer some faster means of communication.. something more "real-time"
SL should have an IRC server for emergencies like this

I usually play in Photoshop when SL is down

I did consider firing up the gimp and making a few things, lol, but I guess I'm just to lazy.

quite interesting, though i wish there was some offline interpretor/compiler so i could test scripts out..

speaking of the gimp.. i need to recompile mine as i messed up my GTK2 libs and ended up with tonnes of unresolved symbols :\

I'm in school, so I can usually only post in the forums at this time anyway. If an update ever came on a friday, saturday, or sunday... I'd probably sleep... or... eat... or think... I dunno. Oh, I'd play Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker (I'm playing through it again...)

Ok as suspected, my boss went into shock this morning when he saw I was here early! (actually I was 10 minutes early). I advised him not to expect a trend...

I paid bills and organized my office.

I read a ebook, but it wasn't quite such an "ebook" since you could hold it in your hands and it was made out of dead tree matter.. like an off-line ebook.. I wonder what these things used to be called? If "email" is what was once "mail", maybe this thing is a "book"... just a theory.

GIMPed out some new clothing... now I am dying to try them on and see how they look...

I had a busy day today. I started by re-texturing the floors in my house. Then I terraformed my yard, re-scripted my refrigerator, took my hoverbike for a cruise around the neigborhood, listened to some new music in 10 second spurts, gave myself a title and finished off by building a Calderesque mobile without messy support cables.

Oh, kind of off topic, but I was hoping one of the senior members could answer: I have heard about "bleed-over" in SL but don't know what it means. Any help would be appreciated.

By the way, peeps... it now says 4pm on the status page. Be sure to find something to do for another two hours, won't you?

dang... this is taking longer than 1.1 did... I think... maybe... I can't really tell because of the blood flowing from all of my orafises... see? I can't even spell that.

I found myself trying to use CTRL+ALT to rotate an image on a webpage to see the back...

Having been involved in a number of major distributed application releases, I'm surprised at all of the previous releases that only required 2 hours of downtime.

I'm going to go finish "The Bug," the novel by Ellen Ullman, the author who will be appearing tomorrow evening in SL to talk about her books and her 20+ year career in computer programming...

Sit at My computer desk.. staring at the screen.. drooling and cursing at it saying WHEN WILL IT COME BACK UP!!!! oh.

I'm doing my damned homework for the first time in two weeks. Sorta makes me wish SL was down more often, so I wouldn't have to learn to regulate my leisure activities.

Read forums at w*rk while quietly panicking about a presentation I have to do in a few weeks.
