It's the same thing as with the U.S. -- focus on the positive things (space travel and freedom) and ignore the Native American genocide, don't mention the problem with the overs (overconsumption, overeating, overbudget, overspent, overworked), and please don't bring up the global spread of the corporate-sponsored monoculture.

Oops. Almost forgot. In reference to the U.S., also don't mention the WWII fire bombings that killed hundreds of thousands of civilians, hundreds of years of slavery, and, of course, the TV show, Alf.

Great Phil Almighty, people. I wasn't making fun of the germans, I was poking fun at the Linden concept of Freedom To Build. Asking people to do something creatively "german-themed" is, well..... it's asking for it. Funny part is that residents would more likely get banned for submitting something Nazi-fied, because it's "german-themed" than they would if they submitted something similiarly distasteful that was a put-down to the US's less savory aspects.

I would love to, however I'm a matter of days away from having a child, so I am unable to commit myself to anything. I've heard that there are some Neualtenburgers who are interested in submitting something, though. :)

As Gildemeister of the City of Neualtenburg, I can tell you that "Die Gilde" (The Artist's Guild) will indeed be submitting an entry. We will, however submit a full proposal, which will include some of the look of Neualtenburg as well as many new structures and styles native to Germany. We're very excited to enter, and whether we get the assignment or not feel this will be a very positive happening for Neualtenburg :)
