And here are two more taken on Cannery Row Oh I love that area. I hope you went to the aquarium. I haven't gone in a while but I'm sure if I go there now, I will end up hungry. There's a great margarita place about a block down. I went there for Halloween one year and there was someone dressed in a giant penis. I hope you spent time there. It's cool feeding the seals with small fish.. if the sea gulls don't snatch them from your hand first. |

Sorry everyone, I have had a bad cold and gave up posting for the duration.
Anyhoo on with further adventures, Tuesday we just hung around Fremont and did some shopping at the Cost Plus there by the motel. Garth picked up some gifts for his family and friends back in London. When we left the Cost Plus guess who was pulling into the parking lot in hot pursuit of us? That infamous Crow Valen!! He had absconded with the Oscar Mayer Weinermobile! The kids came running to see Oscar but it was just that dang Crow. You can see him sitting in the drivers seat. Our plans for Wednesday were to take the BART to San Francisco and visit Linden Lab, and then in the evening to have dinner with His Grace and Neo Rebus. _____________________

The next morning we had breakfast at Dennys and then drove off to the BART station in Fremont. It was 9:30am and we looked and looked for a place to park but there weren't any except in the very front where the parking was only for people picking up and dropping off until 10am! So we asked a fellow there and he said one could never find parking after 8am and for us just to sit there till 10 and then we could leave the car! hehe
So at 10am we went off to board BART for our adventure in San Francisco. When we arrived in SF we walked over to Second Street, we heard a lot of chanting in the distance and when we drew near we saw to our amazement that it was war and strife on Jessie!!!! _____________________

Next we saw the Clementina Immigration Service. This is a picture of the bus bringing in a load of newbies from Prelude. There they are processed, given passports and greeted by Mentors. I think that is Loki Piko in the white shirt and cap.
Notice the 'One Way' sign, once in Second Life there is NO turning back! _____________________

We left Loki and the rest wrangling the newbies and continued our way up Second Street toward our desired destination, Linden Lab!!!
On our way we crossed Tehama, Federal and Stillman (or is it Still Man?) And we spied a posh restaurant, Hawthorn Lane, nearby a small cafe named Natoma. _____________________

We continued our walk up Second Street and we saw the alley of De Boom and we knew we had arrived!! There on the corner of De Boom and Second St was the fabled Linden Lab!! We stopped to take a picture of the sign in the parking lot and then timidly walked up the stairs and rang the bell. We were soon buzzed in and proceeded to the second floor where we were greeted by Robin.
She ushered us in the office (or is it a lab?). It is a large loft space that was once part of the garment district. The lights are dim and we see a sea of computers and our friendly Lindens working at their stations. She asked us who we wanted to meet first and we chorused "Colin and Michael". We had a great chat with them, we also met Lee, waved to Joska who was busy working on upgrading the website. Philip sauntered over to meet us, we had a good hour chat with him. And Haney too! Ryan introduced himself and then a fellow sitting just behind us said "I have been sitting here listening to you all, I am Ben". It was great meeting him too. We saw Andrew and a few of the other Engineers going off to lunch but we didn't get a chance to speak to them. We invited Colin and Michael to lunch, and off we went to the '21st Amendment' and had a great lunch and even greater conversation. _____________________

...and then a fellow sitting just behind us said "I have been sitting here listening to you all, I am Ben". Hahaha. I can just picture ben just sitting there quiet and then all of a sudden "yeah, hi." More pics! ![]() LF _____________________

We went by to see Robin and chat with her and met Bub, he was working on the new Forum update (we were the first to see it neener-neener!). Bub is Mr Cool!
Then Don came over and introduced himself, he is one of the newer Lindens, and it was great to meet him too. When we were ready to leave we went to the lobby area to read what was posted on the whiteboards there. Baccara Rhodes had visited a week or so before we were there and had signed one of the boards so Garth and I proceeded to add our names. _____________________

We waved goodbye to all the Lindens and went back down Second Street to find the BART station. We took a picture of the restaurant where we had eaten with Colin and Michael, and nearby I spotted a small cafe - Nova Bar & Restaurant... Now we know where Nova got her name!!! She protests that she had her name first but.........??
Then we saw the sign of Phillips psychiatrist, 'Third Eye Clairvoyant'. Convenient too, next door to Nova's. _____________________

Any RL photos of the Lindens that you are allowed to post? Or blackmail?

Good one James, I love it!
I had to edit post #35 and #37 as some details were inadvertantly left out. I am glad you are all enjoying the thread. More tomorrow! _____________________

These are great adventures, thanks for sharing them, Pituca-n-Garth.
![]() Soooooo cool to see what the insides of the LL offices look like. One of my favorite parts is, of course, the whiteboards, with their personal touches. How long will it be, anyway, until we have collaborative whiteboard drawing in SL? That would be a thrill, a simple paint editor inworld to design textures and sketch out ideas (and football plays, but that's another story). If you keep seeing Crows, then it might be time for a... another sequel to The Birds. ![]() I reiterate what Talen said... and I am anxious for pics of Lindens. ![]() _____________________
