Get amnesty while you can, kiddos.

I was there to see all this... they were dancing in the welcome area with a cacophany of badger song playing, and (I believe it was Jill) Linden came up and said "stop spamming the welcome area"
Didn't seem worthy of a ban to me... just a little mayhem, though it was probably pretty startling to any newbie that walked in for the first time.
What I didn't like was that the badger dancers (and I love that song) were shouting "down with the furries" or "protest furries" or something similar, but if that's your axe to grind, then that's your perogative however puzzling it may be to me.

The incident I saw yesterday in Ahern involved a bunch of people in the group W-Hat (boring use of old catchphrase, too). They were flooding sounds (there were three different song loops being played at once, in addition to just Badgers), pounding random characters on their keyboards to spam the area at times, swearing at each other and all dressed as robots. That whole group are the usual SomethingAwful sheep (likely underaged, too) and when Lee Linden showed up to observe, they didn't seem to think actually 'stopping' was a good idea. My advice is to just ignore them when you see them, silently AR and be done with it.
This sounds like it could be another seperate incident, but honestly, I don't see the issue in temporarily banning people who continue to constantly loop songs and other sounds against the protest of others in Ahern as it's most obnoxious and above all, not very amusing. I don't think it's unreasonable to not want to sit for 30 minutes of constant farting noises, for another example.

Startling? Well... isn't that kinda the point, though? I mean, isn't SL primarily a form of entertainment? Surely most users log on because they have a "surplus" of free time (neglecting addicts and those for whom SL has become a source of RL income, mind). For me, aside from building, seeing crazy stuff is major entertainment factor. The only thing I might want is for the ignore feature to suppress sounds sourced by the av being ignored (not sure, but I don't think it currently does). From: Forseti Svarog ... I, too, generally dislike diatribes of any sort, but I'm just as free to ignore people as they are to say daft* things. (* with respect to my POV, naturally)

Nothing against the badgers, but I'm pretty sure this is Off-Topic.

I really think the badger dancing episode was the final act of two days of recieving abuse reports. There's much more to this than meets the eye Assuming that the dance was the only reason for the ban is being a bit nieve

Earlier in the thread a point was made: "people have to tell us to stop if we're doing something they consider abusive"... IMO: Bull. The same type of unreasonable justification could be used to say orbiting someone was justified because they asked "What is orbiting?", for example, and that is obviously an abusive response.
Behave around people you don't know, and when you're off your own land (even when you're on it if there's neighbors around that might be bothered). It's not that hard to figure out...
DON'T get in someone's way when they're doing something DON'T spam sound or text, especially in heavy chat areas DON'T use scripts that interact with another AV unless they say it's okay DON'T rez x,000 physical prims to lag a sim DON'T create things that break other stuff around them like crappy designed particle systems DON'T keep giving someone something over and over DON'T leave crap on someone else's land etc.
I'm kinda sick of rejects with abusive scripts or brain-problems screwing around at another's expense; it's probably the single best reason NOT to go exploring or to meet new people anymore.

But even that would suck, because who would want to listen to a whining wussy toaster? Is he gold plated? If that's the case he should just be melted down into gold ingots. Help the economy some, and stop being so damn useless you stupid bucket of bolts! R2 is 1,000 times more useful than your tin man ass, and he's shaped like a salt and pepper shaker FFS!

Vade wants to be a martyr. Too bad he doesnt have a real cause. He will probably ultimately be banned over this badger thing. Long story short, he had a repeat performance tonight. The badgers now have their revenge, or something.

I understand where you're coming from, but in this case I don't think you should worry. That is not to say I would ask you to elaborate.
It's just another victim game. Sigh. Bored *disaffected* youth. An unfortunate side effect of relative social prosperity...

From: Belaya Statosky stuff Pot, kettle, and all that. You were already whining about supposed catchphrase reuse and all that jazz on that event. Irony, because you are recycling all the anti-SA whine you furries like to use. Next time, try telling us right in our faces that you hate us, instead of whining like a kid that got his popsicle stolen.

Personally, I find your comments offensive, hypocritical, and borderline libelous.

So in one post you’ve managed to mock our group name, generalize all of us as misbehaved adolescents, and imply that we have a complete disregard for authority? Because a few of our guys were doing the Badger Dance? I’m sensing a bit of repressed anger towards our group because of our affiliation with ‘Something Awful’; which as we all know hasn’t seen ‘eye to eye’ with Furrys like our trolling friend here.

Personally, I find your comments offensive, hypocritical, and borderline libelous. Damn right. The ONLY requisite to being in the group is having an SA forums account. You would be hard-pressed to find a group of people who outshine goons in terms of generosity, community service, and life experience in general. W-hat represents a small cross-section of a community that has sent armor to military personnel in Iraq, raised funds for an organ transplant, and served as an incubator for some of the most legendary fads on the internet - to name JUST A FEW of the incredible things I have seen.
